Please rate my old GFX

Hello, please rate my artwork that i did 2 years ago, since I want to get back to making GFX’s and making them actually look good, I want feedback on what people think of the one i did 2 years ago. P.S it wasnt a game thumbnail or for someone, I just did it for fun with my own avatar. I definetly see mistakes, but I want others povs. ( haven’t made any since then)

Looks good! The only issue I see is that the feet are clearly an image put on top of the background, try add some depth detail.

Thanks! From now on I will mostly start building my own backgrounds with blender.

very lovely! adding some shadows down by the feet will help with detail (:

As the others pointed out but don’t mention by name, they key thing is ambient occlusion, like at the feet, if you use an image editing program to do this, you can use an airbrush tool on the background and draw a shadow where the feet touch the ground, and on a layer that clips the subjects, draw shadows just on the edges of the feet. For more information about “clipping” layers, look it up.

What I also notice but is probably intentional is the slight lack of contrast in the image, dark-dark areas appear rather grey, and some light areas appear a bit blown out, it’s not extremely bad, it’s just something subtle. If for you it seems like the contrast is good enough or the contrast is already high, then maybe my display is funky xd.

You could also make colour in an otherwise monochrome image like this stand out more by increasing saturation to your liking, but these are merely suggestions, not must do’s.

Ty very much! From now on I will definetly start blending in the feet/ other body parts properly in the images. Also the lack on contrast was intentional I guess? Either way nowadays I would defo make the tones around the picture more dramatic so tnx.
