Currently managing a team of 40+ translators is an absolute nightmare on roblox for one reason, moderation. The translator portal is ridiculously sensitive and inconsistent for other languages which results in me pushing our translators to finish their translators while they are pushing back saying they literally can’t (which is a completely reasonable argument). This then results in international players having incomplete translations which is highly damaging for user experience.
Furthermore some fields (we have mainly noticed this with badges and gamepasses) refuse to accept ANY STRING which makes it impossible to complete translations. This is frankly ridiculous and needs addressing in a sustainable way.
Currently the main ‘solution’ is contacting dev rel to get specific strings unfiltered, however even after being told it is fixed, it often takes weeks of back and fourth before we actually are able to translate the string. This is a waste of my time, dev rel’s time and my translators time.
The reason why this arbitrary filter even exists completely surpasses me, As a developer we have full control over what English content we add to our games, why are we not extended the same privilege with other languages?
The only sustainable solution I can see to this problem is a full removal of all text filtering in the translator portal, ideally as soon as possible since in it’s current state the translator portal is bordering unusable which is greatly hindering both the growth of my games, and roblox as a platform.
