A simple free plugin that adds the ability to create and move Parts or Models directly to the camera’s position with a single click or shortcut (Shift + F).
This feature is commonly found in other game engines and 3D software, and now you can use it in Roblox Studio.
What does this plugin do?
Create Parts at the camera’s exact position. Move Parts or Models to where the camera is. Keyboard shortcut (Shift + F) Customize options from a simple interface.
This can be done with the command line. You generally won’t be doing this with enough parts to warrant using a plugin for it. Even if you are using with multiple parts, you can do the same with all selected objects. (not to hate, just stating for people who don’t want to download things)
Hey, yes it can be done with the command line, but selecting a part and using a shortcut is much faster and more efficient than typing a command every time.
The main use of this plugin is for placing reference parts or setting up camera positions for cutscenes, making the process much smoother.
I do agree to an extent with what you’ve replied, and I don’t doubt that your plugin is faster for creating new parts for this purpose, but don’t forget:
Command Bar also stores in memory recent chat commands. So if all someone does is use a handful of commands for editing a part’s location, then they can just click the command bar, press the up arrow and (usually) get their part aligned just as quickly as using your plugin would.
That’s a fair point! But this plugin is mainly for people who don’t want to or aren’t used to working with the Command Bar
I added it because I noticed that Blender and Unity, have this feature built-in but Roblox Studio doesn’t, so I thought it would be useful for improving workflow,
especially for placing reference parts or setting up cameras for cutscenes with just a shortcut.
