Below is the template used to create wraps for trains.
For now, only the R38, and R42 support Custom Wrapping.
Train UV Maps
The Following things should be put into layers in your favorite image editing software
Keep the Aspect Ratio the same
-
The R38 UV Map to get a general idea of where things are on the sides of the trains.
-
The R38 Door/Window Cutout template. (to prevent the door rubber & door window frames from being painted.
-
R42 UV Map
-
R42 Door/Window Cutout Template
More UV Maps will be provided as more trains get the wrapping feature.
When this happens, you can copy/paste the UV & cutout layouts for a specific train, paste them into your custom wrap file, and then modify your design to fit that train.
!!! Remember to hide the UV & any cutout layers before exporting your final image.
Keep in mind Roblox will downscale the textures you upload.
If you already uploaded a wrap here’s how to get it in-game.
- Open Roblox Studio and open a baseplate.
- Open the toolbox, go to your inventory, and select “My Decals”.
- Insert the image you want into the baseplate.
- Select the Decal you inserted from the Explorer tab
- Go to the properties tab and look for “Texture”
Your Image ID should look like this
or this
Paste only the numbers in the wrap settings menu in-game.
If the train wrap is blank then or it defaults to one of the preloaded wraps then the image probably hasn’t passed moderation yet.
Other Settings in the menu:
-
Carbody Glass wrap: Should your wrap cover the glass on the train body? (Note that the interior glass will be wrapped because of Roblox limitations.)
-
Exterior Flags: Can the train spawn with flags on the exterior? (Useful if the flags obstruct a part of your custom wrap design)
-
Side Logos: Should the train spawn with the “Point Lookout” Logos on the side of the train?
