If this is the incorrect topic, please tell me.
I’m trying to create a very simple admin script with just a few simple commands as a proof of concept. In the future, I plan to expand this with more advanced commands. From personal experience and preference, what type of admin interface do you prefer?
Poll:
- Chat-Based
- Panel-Based
- Physical/Manual
- Hybrid/Mixture
- Other (Please elaborate in a reply.)
Some explanations:
-
Chat-Based: Typing commands in chat.
-
Panel-Based: Using commands via interacting with a Panel GUI.
-
Physical/Manual: Interacting in-game to use commands. E.g., click on a player to show usable commands on that player.
-
Hybrid/Mixture: A combination of two types, and/or being able to use any option for all commands.
Voting, and especially elaborating on why you chose an option would be a great help. Thank you!

I prefer whatever I can use to easily manage my game at the moment.
For example, if I wanted to just ban a player that’s currently in-game, I could make it a chat-based command. This is because I use the chat feature often and it would be minimal effort to auto-complete someone’s name in the script.
But then again, it might also be easy to ban a player by clicking a button that’s in a panel. You could list the players in a GUI and select a player.
A physical interface seems really cool at first, however, let’s say the player is cheating. They made their character invisible and even worse: they activated their speed exploits so you can’t click on them! This would cause problems, but it’s still a nice feature. Maybe you can combine it with chat or panel commands if you wanted to go that route.

I like chat-based and panel-based. Make the panel opening button able to be moved around the screen.
Would love to try it when it comes out!

I’m used to chat-based, thus I prefer it.

Panel is easier since you just have to click a button and then the command does whatever it does.
