Thanks for posting that, I can never recall where I find my skyboxes. You should upload more.

Not at all bad!

I only got 10 FPS when facing most of the map. Wow.
It is amazing.

A really nice place, indeed.

The lack of control while chatting, and other things makes me wonder what kind of improvements we can see later on.
Also, is it just me, or are there only 5 quest NPCs? I cannot get the last free-to-get badge either. And you’re not checking with DataStore/other, so if I reset / rejoin, the NPCs will forget all about me completing tasks for them ): aw.

Though really… where is that last task / what have I missed? (Edit note; This observation was from the timestamp I posted this reply. Not at the opening release day.)
[ul]
[li]Fish to Football[/li]
[li]Plush Tiger[/li]
[li]Hammer[/li]
[li]Lost “C”[/li]
[li]Planks[/li]
[li]… and Katrina saying something followed by “Sorry”, and I can’t chat with her anymore.[/li]
[/ul]

Keep up the work [strike]- and get rid of those barriers - and I’ll see it going places[/strike]

You realize its a building showcase? The entire focus in the geometry

Thank you everybody!

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll have to look into quests as I thought they’re all working. It’s possible you played this around the opening release day, which is when this badge wasn’t being awarded yet.

I don’t believe in Saving quest progress on something like this. It’s not meant to be an RPG, it’s a Showcase. The quests are there to encourage players to explore the entire map and look around. Five basic quests is all it takes. Quests are a side feature, not the focus. Saving isn’t a thing, as rejoining the game will just require the player to explore some more and look at the map again. This is something I want.

As for the rest of your feedback, I feel like you’re focusing and criticizing this place as if it’s a game, when it’s actually a Showcase. Looks come first and gameplay comes last for Showcases. I do not make these in hopes to have 1000s of concurrent players or to make a ton of money from DevEx. I make these for my own enjoyment and to test the Roblox engine.

As for when you said,

That is when I believe you’re looking at this all wrong. It’s been on Top Rated all week, has great ratings (and awesome support), and is getting a lot of attention over the build quality. That is all I could ever ask for, and expecting anything more from basically a Tech Demo, would be a little strange.

Stellar place. You should seriously (if you haven’t) look into making a career out of 3D art. I always have trouble finding artists, for most games engines. They can be paid well for startups.

Thanks!

I haven’t really thought about it actually. Might be cool to help out in the collaboration forum that’s here.

I have to say, this is probably one of the most detailed showcases I’ve seen. (Thank god I was on my good computer when playing this and I could get 58fps, rather than 10 x.x)

It’s true, and it’s very cool.

But imagine how much even better it would be if it were a gaaame.

At this point, is it okay if we declare you to be a deity?

Found the perfect soundtrack for this place.

This is absolutely breathtaking. I love it. Very peaceful, very serene, but with a touch of melancholy (read: the name fits).

You could add some sort of a story to this place with NPCs, if you’d be interested in pushing a little farther with it. Create some characters that have jobs or walk around or “belong” to certain places of the map, and give them a story to tell strangers.
Maybe there can be a old, raggedy-looking fisherman sitting by the shore, listing about a lady he met while traveling.
Maybe there can be a wife in one of the houses, always sweeping and cleaning around her house, eagerly awaiting her husband’s return… after 7 long, long years. Always waiting, because he promised to return.
Maybe there can be an admiral in one of the ships, regretting a decision he made in a naval battle that cost him half of his fleet.

Create an enveloping environment that explains WHY there is gloom about this place. Pluck the strings of misfortune in the character’s lives. Make it a place that hums on hope to drown out the despair.

…and have someone create a MIDI file for you of the song I linked, and plug that in as background music.

…but even if you don’t do any of that, this is already a 10/10. You’re fantastic.

Thanks so much  Adding more story would have been fun. I suppose it’s not too late to do that. I’m worried about having NPCs walking around, especially if I use pathfinding, just incase it’s more stress for the game. It’s a bit intensive as it is. I’ll see what I can do.

As for that song, I hate to say I used to love it but I really hate hearing it now. I’ve heard it so many times for different showcases and tech demos, from Roblox to Unreal Engine. It’s still a really nice soundtrack, I think I’ve just heard it too many times.
