I am trying to figure out what Console performance to target towards and want Xbox users to have the best performance to quality possible. However, I have no idea if consoles support different frame rates or resolutions on Roblox.
I’ve tried searching, but it has given me conflicting results, I couldn’t find any devforum posts about this, and I don’t have a console to test it on.
So, does anyone here know if you can change the frame rate or resolution on console? And what’s the minimum/maximum of each?
Edit: also does anyone know if you can change the graphics quality, or is it locked on different consoles? I got conflicting answers for that too.
I thought the consoles would have Roblox match the resolution of the monitor. It doesn’t so that either? So it runs at 1080p even on a 4k tv on the Xbox series x?
Also kinda sad it’s not able to use the 120 fps that some consoles can do (at least that’s what I read online)
To be fair, I wouldn’t know this one, but I doubt it’d run at 4K since consoles aren’t exactly too strong, but then again I also only have an Xbox One S and quit using consoles the second I got a laptop.
But, I’d say its safe to assume consoles are running at 1080p
Generally, Roblox is not considered (and not tagged with) a PS5 or Xbox Series optimized game, and are made for the older generation (PS4 + Xbox One Family), which still can take use of next-gen hardware capabilities…to an extent. This is why Roblox can currently only run at a max of 1080p@60fps (with upscaling in mind.)
I am pretty sure the Xbone/PS4 both run at 1080p but I am also pretty sure both consoles also support 720p as the systems themselves have the option to change resolution (just like the previous gen)
