Possible to temporarily "un-weld" during animation?

Would it be possible to temporarily “un-weld” something, say a sword, during an animation? What I mean is, if I have a sword that is welded to my right hand, and I want to start the animation off by having the sword on my back, if I were to animate the right hand reaching for the sword it would completely screw up the position of the sword. Here is an example:

Trying to unsheath the pike while it’s still welded to the right hand, if I were to weld the pike to the torso it would just cause the same issue at other times. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Just set the Part1 to nil and it’ll stop using it for a minute.

Is it a feature embedded in the animator? I’m using moon animator, how would I go about doing that?
