Prioritized Friend Requests

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to manage the friend requests we get. Developers of us can get dozens, maybe even hundreds of friend requests a day, and that number can increase depending on popularity of the user and how many spam request bots are “attacking” the account.

Developers often times like to exclusively keep their friends list open to other developer friends or colleagues: however, with all the friend requests we get all the time, it gets frustrating to surf through the friend request list just to find that one person.

So, I have a request: prioritized friend requesting. People would be sorted between the categories based on whether or not the other person follows them on Roblox. If you get a friend request from an individual who you follow, it will be placed in a “Following Requests” high priority friend request page. If you get a friend request from an individual who you DONT follow, it will be placed in a “Non-Following Requests” low priority friend request page. This would allow us developers to be able to sort out friend requests based on people we do know and/or potentially work with, and spam bots and users we don’t know and are likely random people we met with on games.

Some additional features would also be nice to have in the Friends/Requests sections;

  • Search/Filter by:
    • Name (if you only recall part of a user’s name)
    • Recently Played With (similar to Overwatch’s ‘recent’ section works)
    • Age (as in, age of account - can’t think of a better word for this)
  • Select / Action (It would be nice to select multiple request at once, or even select an entire page, to perform an action (decline, accept, block, follow, etc).

Could you explain in what situations just going to the person’s profile and clicking the accept button there is not enough?

@WingItMan The “Select / Action” belongs in another feature request

Thats one of the problems. In most cases, the developers dont ever even know the person sent them a friend request in the first place because of all the flooding of random users. During my time as an item submitter for berezaa’s Miners Haven, I faced this problem several times with other submitters because all the regular MH players kept flooding my fr box.

I’ve received 500 in this week alone.

Most of them are from bots.
