Hello, I’ve been researching about private module scripts, but I can’t find a clear answer as there’s so many old and new threads, each having a different answer.
I was thinking about making a private module, that I can use when working on games with multiple people, incase I randomly get kicked out for no reason, after the game is released.
So, I wanna ask, if it’s possible to make a private module, that follows Roblox TOS.
Personally, I’ve tried few things, but ended up finding out, I need to put the module script on-sale, which doesn’t really make it private, now does it.
That is interesting and I might use it in the future, thank you. However it doesn’t seem to be private as I wanted. I have edited my post, so it should be more clear now.
I think a package can accomplish what you wish, as though yes you do have to upload it but from what I know, packages cannot be purchased from the toolbox. From what you said, you want to be able to remove code you make which you can do with a package as you can update the package to have no code in it.
But I think the real solution is to work with people that have mutual trust with you. Others may not like the idea of you using a package that you can edit at any time.
Doing commissions does come with risks but certain things you can do will most likely mitigate the risks. For example, you could have a contract if possible outlining agreement of what happens with the code.
Or you could make an agreement that when you complete the work, you get paid and then hand it over or the person pays half at start and pays rest at end. These might not be the best practices but you could research and look at what is the general practice for this sort of thing.
That is true, I suppose. I don’t really have much to add up to this. However I’ll use packages, since they kinda achieve what I wanted. Gotta make sure I differentiate them, so I don’t remove something and break everything else xd…
