Private server configuration page is confusing plz fix

Created a new private server. This is what I get.

Immediately I have questions:

  1. What does “Private Server Status” mean? Does that mean if I turn it off my server isn’t private? Does it mean my server is off? If so, should this really be a “restart server” button, since why would I ever want to turn off my server for an extended period? And if I did turn it off for months, why should I be charged for it?
  2. Subscription status. Should this be a button that says “Cancel subscription”?
  3. I noticed that “Friends Allowed” is FALSE by default. Does that mean my friends are not allowed? Who is allowed then? Is it everyone except my friends? Should this toggle actually say “Friends only”?
  4. The Add Players search should priorize my friends in the results. Right now it seems to do a global search. Also every single person in the search result page has a warning “you may not invite this user due to their privacy settings”. Bug or feature?

All I’m trying to do is set up a private server that is public and anyone can join because I don’t want to wait for a round of Risky Strats to start in a public game. How do I do that? (I don’t think I can?!)

I seems like private servers are not that complicated and this page should be able to be self-documenting. Right now it feels like a sadistic LSAT question.
