Hey everyone, so I am a programmer but I wanted to try to make a GFX for my game to learn. Whenever I try to import a build into blender it doesn’t show up. I can’t find it anywhere on the screen in blender. Is this because there is something wrong with the build or do I need a setting in blender. Thanks! Have a great day!
Are you using the plugin “Load Character”
It’s a house build! 30chars!!!
oh my bad I dont experiment with builds yet
I recommend you make 2D art is a lot more easier.
have you checked your building pivot point?
Most likely the obj object may just be out of scene (if the object shows up in the explorer) just go to the object button in object mode Set Origin then Geometry to origin this should move the object to the middle on the scene
try aligning the geometry with origin
If I read your post correctly, click on your build on the list of objects in your blender on the side then click ` on your keyboard then select “View Selected” that should face your screen to your build. I hope this helps.
If your making it into blender its probably because your object/thing from studio is far away from the origin(0,0,0
) Export it as an obj.
It happens when you don’t export the model from the middle of the map/terrain. Try putting it in the middle then export and it will be fine.
Ok thanks, thanks to everyone! Much appreciated!
Your problem might be because you’re not exporting the build from roblox studio from the axis. Once you import it into Blender, everything becomes bigger, therefore distance is larger as well, so your build may not appear.
Put the house it the middle of the baseplate in Roblox studio.
Now export it.
Blender chooses the position where the model was exported
Did you make sure you looked up and down because sometimes they spawn like that? If so did you export the build right. How you export is right clicking on the model in roblox studio and clicking export selection and saving it to where ever then go back in blender and click file import wavefront(obj) and then find the model file.
sometimes, (usually) when you export a file to blender from roblox studio, the build can be really far away from the center of the blender scene. to fix this click on the build. in scene collection, right or left click (matters what your key-binds are set to) then hover over set origin, and press origin to geometry, then press alt + g to move it to the center of your screen. if this doesnt work then there could be something wrong with the build/file.
