Problem with simulating cloth/physics in Blender

Hello!

I want to make a market stall, however my “tarp” (just a plane with subdivisions) keeps passing through itself or it passes through the stall frame. It also seems to tear sometimes.

I have tried using the presets (decided denim was the best) and messing with other options but I just can’t seem to get it to work properly.

The stall itself just has a collision modifier.

Not a 3d modeller but wouldn’t you be better off using the sculpt modifier in the sculpt tab instead of using the physics unless you’re rendering an animation?

You’re probably right. Issue is that it may not look as natural unfortunately. Will see if anyone comes up with a solution and if not, I will use the sculpt tab.
