Project Cars (Lightspeed) / Dev Log #1

Initial idea

I must let you know, this is a car/vehicle game, low poly and not using real-life physics

Now, were still working out ourselves the concept inside the game but we have a few main ideas.

For example, there are different zones/biomes to explore, in an open world sort of way, each biome includes a main race track in each, also including a few smaller tracks, PR stunts, and time trials. Many different made-up cars will be seen inside our game, pictures below, to state one example would be a monster truck, for going over terrain better than a go-kart.

Current Features

There arent many features in this game currently, but more is being added!

Features:

  • Few PR Stunts
  • Partial main track for a biome :eyes:
  • Terrain to drive over with trucks and cars
  • Brick wall to drive through for fun!
  • Click the bottom of the vehicle to flip

Plans

There are many plans for this game such as photo mode, with the ability to add in objects for the background, Different tracks, biomes and cars.

Here’s the list:

  • Photo mode
  • More tracks, time trials races and more
  • More biome variety
  • Many more vehicles to drive
  • Teleportation to biomes through tunnels/ PR stunts
  • Much, much more.

Many design and objects/items will probably change.

I like the car designs, especially 2nd ver of the monster truck.

I also like the idea of a “playground” to drive around in, perform stunts, take pictures, etc as it inspires players to get creative. If this isn’t offered by other games, I’d like to see the ability to build your own test track, or have a ragdoll mode on the car which makes the car (not the player) go into ragdoll mode (absurd ik but would be cool!).

Question on the ragdoll mode: on a player that means you have no control and all the limbs are limp. For ragdoll on a car, what would go limp?
