(a total of 40 ppl worked on this game at one point but most didn’t have devforum accounts)

Project Initiate is a PVE game based on Doom Eternal, ULTRAKILL, and of course, Combat Initiation

The game will feature 3 main acts, with 3-5 layers, and 4-5 stages per layer. This game has been in development for a year or two, but has recently has picked up drastically in development progress, and in a month or two a public demo will release.

This game started as a ULTRAKILL port of combat initiation, and has slowly turned into it’s own game over the year(s) that followed.

Anyway, currently we are working on our first public demo, the Colosseum. We are currently trying to get this out before summer ends, but that’s gonna be a be a stretch considering how much we are trying to do .

This game will be multiplayer, allowing up to 8 people.

This is based of the PS1 era of games, sort of the cover that you would find on those DVD cases.

(the M stands for Mild which is the rating that we are trying to get on this game. It is a bit tricky, considering some of the enemy designs and story are pushing the rating.)

This game will have a vast story line, spanning the 100 + stages the game will include.

Here are our enemies we have done so far!

Gladiator! Rushes at players, and hits them, and then advances slowly:



Archer! Stays a distance away, and shoots arrows at the player. Because ultrakill, the arrows can be parried. Because the Archer’s arrows are not designed by idiots, the arrow will shatter when parried.



Jouster! Rides a horse, when his horse dies, then he comes off his horse and 1v1s the player



(and hes not done because its complicated to split the two entities)

We have also finished some OST / Music, and we plan to have a entire album of music, with our many composers.

We are also developing a Achievements Menu!

Achievements are a big part in this game, as they allow you to get certain accessories! We will try to make as many of these actual badges, but that depends on the amount of money we make from the game.

Logo and other designs for the game look cool ah, but will the UI be changed to be more unique from combat initiation?

yeah, we will probably take on a more modern design, and use a TUI design style for the ui.

I personally like how this looks but I wonder if the average roblox player would understand what a TUI even is and jump to “this UI sucks” just because it doesn’t align with their expectations of what a user interface should look like

Fair, but the ui still looks usable, and someone that cares about how the ui looks and does not just play the game without critiquing the ui probably knows basic ui design. And based on the fact that most of the dev team liked the ui, i think this style is ok for now.

if i were you i would add a little bit more visibility to the arrows. other than that, it looks amazing!!!

oh thats because we were using the default roblox recorder for this, in game its a lot easier to see the arrows
