About Us

I’m bigcrazycarboy, the current owner of DevGem. We are a ROBLOX game studio creating immersive, engaging games that push the platform forward and promote fun, exciting experiences that compare to those found outside of the platform. We’ve reached the front page numerous times with our retro games, but some of our most recent titles include Midnight Racing: Tokyo, and Project Trackday.

About The Job

Project Trackday is a simulation-style racing game on Roblox, home to many dedicated groups and communities who compete for the fastest times around the tracks. Our vision for the game is to become the premier track racing experience on Roblox and to provide a base for common interest and communication throughout the track racing community on Roblox. In the future, we wish to expand the game’s horizons with methods such as nonlinear progression, Triple-A quality gameplay, and further intertwining the community of Trackday with that of our other racing game, Midnight Racing.

Requirements:

  • Highly fluent in Roblox Lua, read it like a book
  • Good communication skills
  • Outstanding Problem-Solving skills
  • Understand multiplayer networking & Filtering Enabled and how it works in Roblox
  • Have a deep understanding of the Roblox engine
  • Design sustainable, low-maintenance code that can be reused in future projects
  • Have time to be online and check in often with the rest of the team
  • Have a passion for what you’re working on and truly enjoy your time working on it
  • Be ready to listen to community feedback and act as a role model to the community
  • Be willing to hold on for the long haul because you’ll likely be our first choice to work on future projects.
  • Be ready for that cash to flow :sunglasses:

Not required, but preferred:

  • American / North American timezone
  • Experience creating games outside of Roblox
  • Experience working with lower-level languages than Lua, such as C++, Java, C#
  • At least 17 years of age
  • Having an account that has been on Roblox since the early 2010’s or before
  • Know how to properly monetize games (incentivize spending but not money-grab)
  • Assets from previous projects to help aid the development of DevGem projects
  • Previous experience building full-fledged games
  • Understand how exploits work and how to avoid them
  • Understand how to make an exploit & use that knowledge to protect against them (referring to injectable C++ applications)

We believe this game will be suitable to programmers who are passionate about racing, wish to build something that can be loved more than just a typical simulator game, enjoy thinking in new ways, seek challenges and overcome them, and are dedicated to the ultimate goal of building the premier racing game to rival racing games from within and outside of Roblox.

Payment
