Guess what time it is - 03:49 AM, and I’m quite tired.
Anyways, I’ve been working on a project for the past… minimum 8 hours today. Without saving. Can you hear where we’re going?
Closed the place, and misclicked “No” for “Cancel” in order to adjust some things. Bye bye place, RIP work.
Having an additional prompt for this kind of situation - for people like me who makes mistakes - would do me well in the future.
I think 2 prompts to close the place would be a bit much (that’s not standard for any program that I know of), but I would definitely like it if Studio kept autosaves after a regular closing of the program, rather than only after crashes.
Right? Sometimes I just hit Ctrl+S when I haven’t even done anything just out of habit and to be safe.
Edit: @Cindering I think what he was suggesting was to prompt again when you say no, not when you agree, which would be reasonable. This could also help save people from accidentally closing studio (I have done this too many times).
Back - yep, found a save from 3 hours before I closed the place, just before closing down to sleep. That’s good.
Guess I lost the habit of continually saving, due to ROBLOX Studio not losing stuff when crashing (and crashing less often).
Either way - lesson learned. shivers
Studio should always ask if you’re sure about exiting if the datamodel has changed since it was opened. Adding additional prompts would just hassle other users, so I’m not sure about adding them.
Speaking from personal experience, there could be a text entry box that says “Please type I AM SURE I WANT TO CLOSE” and I’d still close it on accident.
why not have that in the roblox studio settings and by default have it off, those who know they will most likely fail the usual way then they can enable it.
