This is a screenshot from the game im currently working on and i’d like some feedback on ambience, lighting and everything overall.
Im using this as a kind of proof of concept for what type of atmosphere i want in my game and maybe a menu background (kind of like Half-Life 2 Title Screen backgrounds)
Any criticism is obviously welcome as im sharing to improve upon my work, and sorry for any spelling mistakes as my english is self-taught and its also late in the night as i’m writing this.
I love the ambience for this. It just feels like somethings going to pop out at you. Anyway, the brick walls near the window don’t mesh well, making it look a bit weird. And I’d add something outlining the light, as well as a cork to the bottle, but other then that not much! Good job, can’t wait to play this when it comes out!
I can tell the brick wall on the left side of the screenshot is at least two separate parts because of the brick material not lining up. I don’t know what’s the reason for it but I’d fix that by unioning the two parts together or making it just one long part.
Also on the counter / desk you can see the parts are not aligned from the line that runs down the length of the counter.
Another thing, roofs normally are not made of bricks. I suggest using a different texture for that.
the brick wall on the left actually extends a bit beyond from the hole in the screenshot, however from the angle it looks like its right next to the hole with the window, the whole brick room is actually unioned.
besides that I’ve noted your points and will change the room accordingly
I don’t get why people worry so much about it. You spend all day thinking what this scene could imply, or just look at it how it is. There is no blood and you don’t know if it is alcohol or j2o.
the bottles are supposed to be empty and are only green in colour to imply it, however they’re simply decoration, and the gun is there to pick up as the game im working on is an fps.
