PSA - App Backgrounding Now Supported on iOS!

Roblox is not going to contact Apple over this and Apple is not going to change an OS limit for one company.

The latest chip announced this year has proven to be more powerful than NVIDIA’s graphics card. Furthermore, Apple started making their chips when they stopped using Intel, and it payed off.

Nvidia sells multiple GPUs. Which one are you referring to?

Very good. Although I never use mobile now, it’s good to see your rolling this out to people who do.

That’s great to hear guess I had issues with notification and app background since 2016

I mean thats literally 60 gb. You can’t store much on there.

for people who are only going to play roblox (which is 2gb) that’s far more than enough. my ipad with 32gb has Genshin Impact installed (a ridiculous 16gb) among other heavy games and I still have empty space

I have 250GB and storage has nothing to do with background process.

It’s the amount of ram. most ios with 60GB storage only have 2GB ram or less ram which is embrassment for apple.

While there android phones with 500GB storage with 16GB of ram.

Ram is temporary storage which sorts background process.

I don’t know if this will help but I didn’t see anyone suggesting it:
https://developer.roblox.com/en-us/api-reference/event/UserInputService/WindowFocusReleased
Haven’t tested it so I am not sure if it will work.

You literally said 60GB. No iOS device has such RAM.

Doubt an iPad even has 6.

I have fixed my comment sorry for the miss understanding.

Omg. Thank you so much,

HECK YES.

I don’t own any projects that are on iOS yet, but when I do, this is a really good automatic feature that was added, I remember in 2016 I used to play on my iPad a lot, and when I accidentally exited the app, I “lost connection” to that server and all gone.

This is a very good change, hoping to see more fun mobile features and support, they really deserve it, a huge audience on the mobile side on Roblox!

I’m referring to the NVIDIA 2070/2080. According to a website;

“Theoretical Performance says the M1 Max sits around a Nvidia GTX 3070 to 3080 , which to say quite impressive since the power consumption is around half of what Nvidia / AMD is doing.”

Incorrect.

First of all, Apple doesn’t sell iPhones for specifically 60 GB.

Based on how you customize your order, the storage can range from 64 GB to 128 GB to 256 GB to 512 GB with the amount of ram depending on the amount of Internal Storage.

Example:
My 5 year old iPhone X has 256 GB of storage with 4 GB of RAM.

RAM is more than just “temporary storage”. I suggest you search on Google to go in depth to what RAM is fully.

Seriously? The latest iPad Pro has up to 16 GB of Ram.

Both of you please research before posting.

I believe you need to further your research.

The iPad Pro with 128GB - 512GB of Storage only include 8GB of ram. The Cheapest (128GB Storage) Costs 799$.

The 1TB Storage Option Costs 1499$. This however Does include 16GB of ram.

The costs for 16GB of ram and 1TB of storage is almost appalling, the hardware in apple is not the selling point, it’s the brand. (Except when It comes to the iPhone, the iPhone isn’t as bad.)

Operating Systems take up a certain amount of space, so therefore yes, iphones do come packaged with 64GB of storage, however only around 60 of those Gigabytes are use-able, this varies on the type or model of the iPhone, however.

For Reference 16GB of Ram can cost anywhere from 60-90$ in todays value.
1TB of Storage can cost 50-70$ Depending on some certain key aspects such as external or built in, the type of hardware, etc.

Also you claimed, and I quote, “Ram is more than just Temporary Storage”.
And to a very small degree you may be right, however RAM, also known as Random Access Memory, isn’t a permanent storage, it’s meant to go through and hold data until it can dump it, so in a way, your wrong, it is a type of temporary storage, It’s almost everything you said it wasn’t.

RAM is also known as just memory, It sacrifices storage-capacity for speed. So yes, ram is a storage device, but it wasn’t designed for long-term storage, hence the “Temporary Storage”.

If one could do me a favor and take a bit of advice from themself: “Both of you please research before posting.”

All I ask is if one or more is to have a discussion that oneself would actually value that discussion, instead of jumping in, saying everybody is wrong for their views and that they must go and research the topic, and at the same time one doesn’t research nor reassure the information that oneself has provided.

I was never referring to the comparison between the iPad Pro’s Specs to the prices of it. Don’t jump and accuse me of something without looking fully at the context.

@Vanniris said that they doubt an iPad even has 6 GB. I stated that the latest iPad Pro has UP TO 16 GB of Ram.

Can you quote the part where I said everyone was wrong? And since when did I not value the discussion?

I was just giving my input. Simple as that. You shouldn’t have any reason to assume that I have harmful intentions in my reply.

I suggest that you understand the purpose of my reply before accusing me of such things.

Edit If you wish to continue this, feel free to do so in PMs to avoid going off-topic.

I never said I was accusing you of being wrong of the specs, I was merely including facts to better light up the situation as a whole.

“@Vanniris said that they doubt an iPad even has 6 GB. I stated that the latest iPad Pro has UP TO 16 GB of Ram.” → Yes and I have provided facts to reassure that point alone.

When you said “Incorrect.”, and replied to those whom were. I replied in the belief that you were clearly attempting to shutdown discussion, or atleast to a degree, perform yourself upon them as more-capable to discuss, however I can be mistaken. However some you considered as incorrect, weren’t incorrect.

I never assumed you had malicious or harmful intent, however I had included my perspective, just as you included yours. Intention, however, doesn’t always mean what you have done is wrong. I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and just conclude that you hadn’t fully researched these topics yourself.

I have understood the purpose of your reply, I haven’t accused you specifically of such in my example, however, just made an example of my perspective of your reply. (You also said you were just giving your, and I quote, “Input”, Why should this be different from mine?)

I can confirm that you are wrong about the “RAM” Information, however anything else is factual evidence and information I provided for all in the discussion to understand.

However I agree with your last statement, if you wish, let us continue this in direct messages. In which I can provide sources and additional points of perspective. (You are not accepting messages at this moment)

It won’t let me send you direct messages:

This is an amazing update!
But what would happen to the AFK player once they leave the app running? Would they just remain there or temporarily disappear from the game?
