PSA to ALL Roblox developers - Massive hacking operation taking over massive front-page games

Hello everyone! My name is Possible Panda. I would like to warn everyone about a scam that is affecting tons of front-page games. I’m a developer for a game called Equistride, around 3 weeks ago the game was hacked by a hacking group under the alias “Gameblox”. The scam goes as follows, they approach a developer telling them that someone is trying to sell their game in a server called “Gameblox”, the developer joins the group and verifies with a FAKE RoVer bot, which allows them to log into their account and transfer any group to their alt account, and make it as hard as possible for you to recover your game(s). They will then try and sell the group to individuals who are unaware that the game is stolen, and then scam them as well. I’ve spoken to multiple people who have fallen victim to their game getting hacked by the SAME exact people, and pretty much anyone else who may know something. If I were to share all that I knew about this operation, it would take far too long to explain, but if you want a longer explanation please shoot me a message. I’ve worked with multiple game owners who have gotten hacked by these people to help get their games recovered, and I’ve gotten multiple games successfully recovered.

The games that they target are mainly front-paged games but ANYONE is at risk. Below I will list a few games (but not all) that I have seen get hacked by these users. There’s a lot more but I don’t feel like finding them all

EDIT: To clarify, yes this is a phishing scam. I’m making this post to spread awareness because I’ve never seen a phishing scam at this scale on Roblox, people are messaging me DAILY telling me their games got hacked by these people. I’m trying to spread awareness, even if just one developer ends up not getting scammed because of me.

EDIT #2: They have rebranded the server to “GameMarket”

EDIT #3: They’ve been trying to impersonate me for about a week now, and have been telling their victims that their main account is Possible Panda.

If you have any more info regarding this, or you have personally fallen victim to this scam please feel free to shoot me a message, or reply to this post. I will read every single reply & message I get on this post. If you have a community, or developer friends you can share this to please feel free to share it with them. Thank you.

Where’s the hack this is literally just common sense 101 of the internet. Nobody over 16 would fall for this, and anyone who’s over 13 falling for it was going to get scammed by something else if this wasn’t there first

The most effective cyber centric attack of all time will always be some form of social engineering

This phishing scam is hot right now. Thanks for putting this warning out. While many people would recognize it as a scam, there are some that don’t know that a verification bot could potentially steal your account.

I received a weird message saying someone was impersonating me on a server. They wanted me to verify with a weird bot. I knew it was a scam. Anyone that tries to aggressively rush you into verifying or joining a server quickly is suspicious.

Stay safe folks!

Let’s try to have empathy. These scammers are professionals at what they do. They rush their victims into doing things (usually saying there’s something dire) so the victim doesn’t have time to critically think about what they’re doing.

Scams are getting better and better, anyone can be a victim.

You would be surprised. These are games racking in thousands of dollars. The scam is very believable and anyone can fall for this.

Exactly, it’s the easiest to pull off and works extremely well

Yes, but I’ve personally never seen a phishing scam at this scale affecting this many games in such a small time-frame. All of these games that I’ve seen hacked only happened in less than 2 weeks, and these are just the ones I’m aware about.

I’m not gonna have empathy considering it’s against ToS to sell games to begin with. Not to mention it’s not on a game dev/owner to moderate someone elses offsite platform (see: the claim that someone is trying to sell their game)

..? Did you even read the post? Nobody’s selling any games aside from the hackers trying to sell the games they steal. There’s nothing wrong with spreading awareness about something.

Yup, ive been contacted by someone, figured out that it was a bot, and I started asking him to write essays about history, the bot responded with the most basic “What? Lets get back to the problem at hand”

It’s this type of scam that you really don’t pay attention to, usually when I see the RoVer bot I just spam the buttons to verify asap.

Interesting… Not sure if that’s the same people because from all of the people I’ve seen so far have been real people.

I’d recommend you read posts more attentively before commenting on them. Not sure why your first instinct when you see something like this is to blame it on the victim.

Yep, I almost clicked on the verify button out of habit when doing research on this lol
