It’s been almost a year since Public UGC was released – but a majority of creators still don’t know how long they’ve been kicked for. The Revoked Access feature is still exclusive to original UGC creators, but why?
(If you don’t know what I’m referring to)
- Kicks are extremely easy to receive
Before Dynamic Heads, bundles or layered clothing were released, kicks were commonly only given to rip-off creators, or people who “spam” uploaded more than one version of the same item.
Now? It’s extremely easy to be handed a 7 to 14 day kick for something as simple as including makeup or accessories on a Dynamic Head or bundle, which often are deleted as the result of a misconception. Along with the layered clothing TOS constantly changing, for most creators it hasn’t been their first time having their access revoked.
- Dramatic scheduling issues
Picture this; You’ve planned a Free UGC event ahead of time, thinking you’re in the clear. There’ll be thousands of stock, along with hundreds of players awaiting this event which you’d planned on happening today. The problem? That warning you received a couple days ago included a 7 day kick, which would completely postpone your event.
Not only this, but creators commonly purchase premium to continue uploading, only to be notified that they are kicked AFTER they’ve bought the required membership. If they’re kicked for 14 days, that’s pretty much half a month in which they’ve been screwed from uploading.
I know that you can use the marketplace API to retrieve whether you have access or not, but this shouldn’t be a solution, nor is it going to be as easy to find as a notification in the creator page.
Expected behavior
Public UGC creators should have the same feature as current program members, it’s informative and avoids misconception between creators and the upload process.
