Publishing a place and then clicking on the "share" link doesn't work

Reproduction Steps
To reproduce this issue simply

  1. Create a new place
  2. Upload to an existing place
  3. Click the share button at the top right corner
  4. Expected result: Can get a link to share the game
  5. Actual result Cannot share the game

Expected Behavior
I expect to get a link to share the game…

Actual Behavior
Instead we get this funky UI which tells me to share the game

Workaround
The current workaround is to go to the website and just get the link there, but this kills the whole point of the feature.

Is the place public? I usually can’t get the share menu to work unless the published game is public.

Yup the game is public, so this is a bug. It’s at the top of my profile!

I argue it should work even if the place isn’t public (what about internal testing!)

I agree. You should be able to get the link to send to other developers instead of having to go through the whole develop page process. As for the bug itself, if restarting studio doesn’t work I’d have no idea how to fix it.

If so, this is intended behaviour as stated in the share prompt the game must be public. You should instead file a #feature-requests:studio-features

Thanks, but the game is public, so this is a bug. Repeating the publish step does not change the share link not showing up. :stuck_out_tongue:

Per a recent bug triage, this older issue appears to have since been fixed. Please let us know if this is not the case. Thanks.
