QS Energy Research Facility — v3.6.0 Update

Hello everyone! It’s been a wild 3 months since the Christmas Update, sorry for the considerable wait!
We’ve been hard at work to fix all those nasty bugs, and also bring you some new content & quality of life!

Along with this update, we’ve also rewelcomed a new member to the development team… @imskyyc!
Now, onwards… to the changelog! <3


:sparkles: Additions

  • New Clothing & Hard Hats!! As seen on the Avatar Marketplace!
  • New Combat Armour! Now with speed debuffs.
  • Added a new mailing office within the DMR Control Room!
  • Added a new secret badge called Overtime Work, only obtainable in public servers.
  • Added a new object interaction system, with object details, cool UI, and mobile support!
  • Added a new hanging TV in certain rooms.
  • Added two new unique posters!
  • Added new clothing for Security.
  • Added first-person zoom function via the right mouse button, can be turned off.
  • Added a new “simple” option for camera shaking.
  • Added portrait for group photo from December 2024.
  • Added a speaker in Sublevel-2.
  • Refreshed the changing area lockers.
  • Refreshed the TV model.
  • Introduced new weapon limits:
    • AA-12, 3 per team.
    • M60, 2 per team.
    • RPD, 2 per team.
    • RPG-7, 1 per team.
    • Saiga-12, 3 per team.
  • Readded quests for Admin Warhead events.
  • The event hazmat suits have returned!
  • Crouching now has reduced recoil for certain firearms.
  • When Foxtrot-9 blows up, the crane is now pushed by the explosion.
  • Various weapons now have their own equip time, with the new default being 0.5 seconds.
  • The DMR Chamber radiation indicator now errors when above 9999 roentgen.
  • The DMR Chamber radiation indicator now slowly decreases during a Phase 2 Shutdown.
  • Props within Control Station 47 are now fully affected by the black hole.
  • Various animation packs are now allowed on combative teams.
  • Various commands are now available to private servers owners in the F2 console.
  • QSERF Avatar Items are now recognised as in-experience items, allowing you to switch hats!

  • Refreshed the rest of the McCarthy Node!
  • Emotes have been re-enabled!
  • Avatar Item givers no longer use proximity prompts.
  • Various weapon rebalancing changes, see QCOD for new statistics.
  • Updated all loading screen, spawn location, and vent location images.
  • Updated the in-experience credits section.
  • Updated non-employee payout ranks, and added new Advanced Corporate ranks.
  • Optimised a lot of things, a considerable amount of things, just so many things.
  • Shirt Graphics (aka T-Shirts) now display on your avatar once again.
  • Moved the DMR Control Room teleport location to an inner viewing area.
  • Walking no longer affects the spread of firearms.
  • Significantly reduced the range of DMR Controls. (Community Suggestion)
  • Improved collisions of potted trees.
  • Improved quality of CS47’s elevator rank label. (Community Suggestion)
  • Reduced water movement debuff from 50% to 30%.
  • Refactored elevator teleportation code.
  • Refactored weapon equipping code.
  • Refactored the NPC Client Handler script.
  • Reimplemented the Shaft Elevator music.
  • Rescripted camera shaking.
  • Rescripted the Tape Drives.

  • Fixed a bug where avatar items contributed to player hitboxes.
  • Fixed a bug where Richard Dalthic could not be interacted with.
  • Fixed a bug where NPCs sometimes wouldn’t respawn after a meltdown event.
  • Fixed a bug where the upside-down chairs in the DMR Café were interactable.
  • Fixed a bug where the Jetpack was unusable on controllers.
  • Fixed a bug where the Topside Tartarus CR elevator would spawn at the wrong floor.
  • Fixed a bug where the temporary combat restriction note did not display on low quality modes.
  • Fixed a bug where the MIN-134 wouldn’t stop revving after being unequipped.
  • Fixed a bug where spinny chairs didn’t stop spinning after being dismounted.
  • Fixed a bug where a player’s first payout would never succeed.
  • Fixed a bug where the DMR could brick if it stalls & enters maintenance at the same time.

  • Removed unused stuff & misplaced terrain outside the map.
  • Removed unused PBR Textures, as they are not normally visible in QSERF.
  • Removed unused lighting sound effects.
  • Renamed the achievable janitor items.
  • Various improvements & fixes to the weapons system backend (aka MGKS).
  • Miscellaneous scripting improvements, many of them.
  • Cargo Doors now reset after the end of an event.
  • Security can now enter Control Station 47 regardless of rank. (Community Suggestion)
  • Adjusted vertical speed of Anti-Gravity.
  • Admin-primed Warhead detonation can no longer be cancelled at the 10-second mark.
  • The frog no longer explodes.
