QSERF 12/24/2021 Update Changelog


:christmas_tree: :christmas_tree: :christmas_tree: Wowzers, we meet again! It seems like its been quite a while since the last major update for QSERF. I am however very very pleased to announce that this update is gamechanging. As you may know, SST has been working on what we call the Megaupdate, which is a 3-phase revitalization project for QSERF. After more than half a year, we’ve finished the largest portion of the Megaupdate, that being, Phase 2.

Get ready because it’s a big one:

First and Foremost

• The datastore has been redone, data not loading should now be an issue of the past. Back to the dinosaurs, you!
• The AC units in the facility broke, causing for the facility to freeze over. Bring your jackets and your soupcans because it’s going to be a cold Christmas. The Christmas Event for the year has finally arrived! Due to our late delivery, the Christmas Event will persist into January. Collect soupcans and fight Santa Soupcan!
Ever feeling like you want to experience what it’s like to manage the facility? Well now you can! Do the Nightshift (Preservation Ending) for two hours in real time (7 hours in in-game time).

Major Changes

• There is now a help menu with the bottom-left NavBar, it contains useful information.
• The DMR Control Room has been completely redesigned! Enjoy the view of the DMR once again.
• Another layer of complexity has been added to the DMR, meaning coolant loops now see more interaction from players.
• A new way to cool the Dark Matter Reactor has been added-- the Emergency Fire Suppression System, or EFSS for short. This also brings back the Bridge Codex above the DMR.
• There’s now a surface to QSERF! Ever wondered what Madison, Connecticut looks like? Well now you can, sort of. Additionally, the Museum of Atomic Science is now open in the brand new Visitor Center!
• The Warhead, as well as Sublevel 4, has been completely remastered! Steal critical data as a Raider and escape guns blazing!
• New guns and armor! New gamepasses! Lock and load, boys!
• New hazmat, clothes, and equipment givers! All squeaky clean for your convenience!
• The Energy Grid has also been completely remastered for more seamless use.
• The Tartarus Seal has been completely remastered and introduces a Battery, integral to use with the grid.

Other Changes

• Guns have been rebalanced significantly.
• Power Lasers now have sound, their pitch indicative of their respective levels.
• DMR Maintenance has been completely rescripted to be more seamless.
• DMR Thermals has been completely rescripted to be more seamless.
• New requirements for meeting certain parameters with the DMR, although now the Server can do these by itself, at a cost.
• A bunch of new quests and badges have been released! Go hunting!
• A bunch of areas in the facility have been completely remastered, as well as the addition of various new areas. Check them out!
• There are now NPCs in the facility, interact with them! Just leave Dr. Boomer alone, please.
• You can now be a Janitor! Ever wanted to know what it’s like to have the back-breaking job of cleaning up after lazy people? Well now you can!
• As a raider, you can now sabotage certain systems if a certain amount of QDF are present, oh the things you can do…
• A Door Controls system has been added for group admins and QDF operatives. These doors will also function during emergencies, power outages, and otherwise.

Small Changes

• Site Admin portraits have been redone.
• Real-life personnel portraits have all been painstakingly redone.
• All icons inside and outside of the game have been redone! Ooh! Nice!
• The Hadron Collider has been visually remastered.
• More monitors have been added to the DMRCR for extended observation of facility systems.
• The truck driver will now leave the facility in the event of an emergency, so they no longer have to sit there and die.
• A Radiation Seal has replaced the DMRCR Airlock Lockdown function, which also now prevents the ability for one to do a Phase 2 Shutdown for the DMR.
• The Codex is back, and a specially-made F3X-made restaurant has been added, CMP only!
• Fuel Cell locks now accurately represent their status on the DMR. I don’t know why you guys wanted this so badly.

There’s likely other small changes that were made and that we haven’t logged, but we hope that we’ve covered all the important ones to you. This version of QSERF is likely our most polished as of yet, we hope this gives you the gaming experience you’ve wanted for a while.

Of course, and as always, if there are bugs to fix, they will be fixed. We hope you all enjoy Phase 2 of the Megaupdate and hope that it was worth the wait. Phase 3 will focus on the more functional aspects of QSERF and will bring stuff like a Laboratory, as well as Employee and Maintenance tasks. Coming soon.
