Quadruped avatars cannot climb ladders or trusses

  1. Equip an avatar bundle that leans slightly forward to simulate being a quadruped, for example: Capybara - Roblox
  2. Attempt to climb a TrussPart or ladder structure
  3. Observe you cannot climb either

Expected behavior

Quadruped avatars can at the very least climb TrussParts, and ideally also ladders. Otherwise, these avatars make climbing trusses and ladders literally impossible - this breaks core game mechanics with no clear workaround.

I agree! These avatars are very fun to use but it makes some games impossible to play. This is because of the legs not reaching the truss/ladder (I think) and maybe it is solved?

This was/is still a problem with the dinosaur package. Its not something that can be fixed by roblox it’d have to be changed by the creator of the package.

This is a defeatist mindset and makes no sense. There are two possible things Roblox can do to fix this:

  1. Change the underlying code logic to toggle the “Climbing” state of the Humanoid to not rely on a Humanoid being bipedal
  2. Delete the offending avatar bundles; prevent creation of non-bipedal avatars moving forward

The intent of reporting this bug is for them to do approach #1. Approach #2 is not ideal because it ruins creativity and self-expression.

Either way, this is still a bug that needs to be addressed. If an avatar can’t climb a ladder or truss - that breaks experiences.

Thanks for the report! We’ll follow up when there’s any update on the issue.

This has not been fixed yet and is still an issue. I’m trying to code a quadruped character and found that I couldn’t climb. Could this be moved to a higher priority?

honestly this bug causes me major grief, hopefully they fix it soon
