My old account was deleted back in 2021 for inappropriate content, and it’s extremely unfair now that I’ve matured and realized the whole situation. TL;DR: Is it possible to recover an account years later after it had been terminated?
Picture this: an ordinary 11 year old kid doin’ something in studio, y’know, just playing around, no bad intents (you guessed it - that kid was me!)
I had Team Create on, so AutoSaves were uploaded to the Roblox servers. I was just browsing the toolbox (because I was too bad to do anything back at the time), and I found an inappropriate model, the ones typically seen in the so-called ‘condo’ games. We talking (warning: some inappropriate stuff ahead!) nude parts, genitalia, that kind of stuff. Due to my immaturity, lack of experience and obvious curiosity, I inserted it into my game to take a closer look.
…I did, in fact, take a closer look, however, it had soon backlashed. I play tested it (because of course!), and then deleted it from my place, and continued surfing the toolbox. And then… boom.
Due to the lack of experience, I couldn’t get my appeal to go through. And then the 30 day window had expired, and I just gave up and moved on. But years later, I was wondering, is there a way to recover an account years later?
Who got my hopes up is this fella right here:
They only say this so that kids don’t keep on spamming their emails for two years straight with pls unban me i didnt do anythng plsssssssssss messages.
In fact, appeals sent even after 30 days are eligible for review, and many people on Reddit got their accounts after months and months of being terminated
I mean, you could contact Roblox support, depends on what they say. I could say it is or isn’t possible, but really that doesn’t mean anything. It depends on what the Roblox support representative says.
I did contact Roblox Support a few years ago, and they declined it because the 30 day window has expired. I gave up (again), and then I got curious if there were any exceptions to that rule. That’s how I discovered this message:
and it gave me a spark of hope.
I asked ChatGPT with web searching enabled, and it states that there were exceptions to that rule, however, it’s pretty inconsistent.
So yeah. Roblox Support says nnnope, and people say that I just gotta try harder with my appeals so that maybe, just maybe some sympathetic support rep who is in a good mood actually reads my oh-so-mature-and-awesomesauce-ticket and escalates the case.
I mean, I suggest not to do that because it’s just annoying for Roblox staff members and it’ll probably just decrease your chances if you have any really. The ban was for a pretty solid reason and they don’t know for sure whether or not your reason is true. Even if it is true, it’s not really too valid of a reason, you’re still breaking rules regardless.
I definitely agree with you here. Spamming tickets never works, however, making brand new tickets with new information, proof and/or tone can help. Additionally, it’s best to wait a couple of days before sending a new ticket not to bother the support reps too much. That’s what I do.
I see what you’re saying, and there’s definitely some truth to your words, however, Roblox Support isn’t typically THAT strict. After all, no harm was made because I didn’t publish anything, didn’t share or redistribute the inappropriate model.
Roblox never should have allowed that on the Toolbox.
Guess what? My account from 2016 fell victim to this same stupid oversight.
I inserted UTG. My account got immediately banned.
If they can detect it in places, why can’t they detect it in the Toolbox?
The answer is that they can, they just don’t. At least, not when our accounts got banned.
I’m surprised I’m even still here after how they’ve treated me and many others.
Honestly, I don’t care what other people say. It is Roblox’s fault. The Toolbox moderation problem can be fixed so easily—before it’s uploaded, have it be moderated. You know, with the same automated moderation process that happens when you save/upload a place. Because clearly that moderation works; just not where it should be working.
I had the same thing happen to me in 2017, with an old account of mine. I seeked out to Roblox Support and after weeks and weeks of back and forth, they eventually asked me to prove my age and that i’d “changed” over the years between then and now. Which I provided and they gave me a warning of such which was to never post things on the toolbox which you’re unfamiliar with. Which in my opinion is stupid, why can’t they provide the reason why it was terminated, they just sent the asset ID, nothing about what was wrong or how it violated, and even when asked about it, they couldn’t get a straight answer so I just deemed to never post anything that seems like i’d get banned for copyright issues, other infringements or something against TOS.
it indeed is accurate. ive seen countless people on reddit who got unbanned after tens and tens of appeals
it takes some time for someone to understand your case and unban you.
if your appeal was denied by a guy from roblox support, wait a few hours then send in another one. a different guy will review your case and make a decision.
i’ve seen someone on reddit who was trying to appeal an old ban (it was a few months old). when he first contacted them, they replied with the ‘your appeal is ineligible to review because it’s been more than 30 days’ message.
he kept submitting tickets until they eventually replied with ‘your account has been reinstated’ message.
he claimed that he had sent them over 13 unsuccessful appeals and the 14th one was the successful one
if i had the links to these posts i wouldve sent them to you but i cant seem to find them
so just keep trying and trying, keep sending appeals to them. be honest, respectful and professional. apologize and clearly state that the ban was due to your immaturity and that you grew up and won’t do such actions again.
