I’d like to make a game where players can earn currency by completing tasks, and I’d like them to be able to exchange that currency for Robux (via group funds).
It is a donation that the game would make to thank the best players.
I couldn’t perform all the requests alone and I would need to develop a bot to help me with the donations.
Automation of donations is risky even if it works. Faults in code in conjunction with abused currency in game can result in potentially dangerous consequences as a developer.
Consider twisting the concept a bit, to where you can limit how money is being given out, and you don’t need a bot. Maybe do something that happens at the end of each in game “season”, payout(s) similar to some minecraft servers.
And a note of business, is although you’re creating extreme incentive to play and retain players; this will take a hit on your working capital as you’re creating an expense which you don’t technically need - so the option I mentioned above would really be the better course of option, whilst still keeping that incentive.
Thank you very much for your answer and the time given.
Your idea looks very good, unfortunately I haven’t played much on Minecraft servers, can you quickly explain to me how it works?
Every “season” (be it a week, 2 weeks, month, etc), the top such and such players are given x ROBUX dependant on their position in the top positions. After this payout, the economy is reset to give all players a chance.
This creates incentive, however you might wish to tweak it a bit to more fixate to your game.
Imagine that the currency is called “Gems”. Players can earn it by doing things in the game. Afterwards they can select one of their 10 Robux gamepass which is worth for example 50,000 Gems. The system receives the request and exchanges the Gems of the player, and this player receives a donation of 10 Robux.
Hmmm… I mean it sounds like a great idea but because the end incentive / the reason they want to play is to win robux it might fall under a community guidlines violation , If I was you Ide email roblox and ask about the specifics on their " Illegal and Regulated Goods and Activities " sector of their community guidelines… Awesome Idea though man!
I’m slightly confused about your wording but I’m pretty sure its still against their TOS… Because the end result would be them getting robux From the game… So the end “prize” would be robux… I’d still email ROBLOX with your concerns and ask them to elaborate on their TOS… Good luck!
Yes, that’s the problem, the system would still work with the end goal of giving the player the Robux, no matter how many in-game currencies you move it through.
PLS DONATE only works as an middleman that allows players to buy assets from other players, which is officially supported by Roblox.
Am a bit confused by this, do you mean like using an alt account for this? If so, then no, you cannot do that either.
There are ways to get around roblox tos (aka legal). ONE: make exclusive ingame UGC that only top players can earn. Offer to buy it from them for a set price after the hold period is over. (you don’t even have to buy it from them tho, cause if it’s free, its guaranteed robux)
In order to pay someone from a group the user must be in the group. Which means that the reason they are getting these robux is by joining the group. They aren’t a developer, your misusing the function of group funds.
Is it a prize. Your making a currency worth no real money value in trading it into another currency that has money value. Also the amount of trouble you would run into Laws as yes, this is illegal in some Country’s, especially if the country the user is from has IsPaidItemTradingAllowed false inside the Policy server
TL;DR
Your game would probably be taken down in a matter of only a couple users reporting it, and if your caught, you are most likely in big troubles, as mentioned above, in some counties, this isn’t roblox rules, it’s the countries own legislation.
Please Donate is able to function because they use gamepasses, and user to user contact with gamepasses. They don’t misuse the group funds because they don’t use that system, they use gamepasses, and they most likely check the Policy service to make sure the user is able to do this
