i have a question regarding flags dawned by the confederate states of america during wartime, would i be able to upload the national flag “stars and bars” (34 star variation if that matters) onto roblox without issue? keep in mind this post is utterly free of political bias and is in no way intended to be offensive in any form, it’s solely about how roblox moderation works, from what i can understand the battle flag is disallowed however there exists multiple variations of the stars and bars flags as decals, as well as the bonnie blue; though i am unsure on if this is a definitive indicator that they’re allowed, direct responses would be very helpful and i feel like i have to clarify again that this isn’t to diverge into a political topic of ANY sort
I’m pretty sure Roblox shouldn’t have an issue with posting a flag up, considering there isnt much of an issue for example posting up a brazil flag, or a UK flag or whatever.
maybe, i’m even more confused now since i just read the TOS and it vaguely disallows confederate symbolism, given that they allow the bonnie blue and national flags i’m assuming they were talking about the battle flag in specific since its been subject to widespread controversy over the years, basically, the big question is if it’s allowed to upload anything corresponding with the csa in its entirety or if those images are from a bygone time and never had moderation action taken against them

Posting any Confederate imagery is quite an issue. I’d recommend making a fake Confederate flag if you have to put one at all. I don’t think you should give the opportunity for players to even pretend being in the CSA, however.
any viewpoint you may have on the subject aside, many people (myself included) enjoy historical reenactments
Despite being used for well-intended purposes, moderators will definitely CD this and you could get banned. I doubt it, but there might be some way to get an exception.

My personal opinion would be that you could upload it. But, I don’t work for ROBLOX so I would say your best bet is to email them with the picture and ask if it would be allowed to be uploaded.
You’re gonna have to change quite a bit.
But here are some suggestions you could take.
- Do not depict slavery or anything like that as your game is gonna be taken down in a minute if that is seen by Roblox.
- The Confederate flag is a controversial issue, and you’re gonna have to contact Roblox Support to ask them, but to be on the safe side, just make the Confederate flag plain red, for example.
- Stay away from blood and gore, and if you’re gonna do it, don’t make it extremely inappropriate.
You seem unaware of the symbolism the confederate flag brings… It’s quite different than a current nationality flag like Brazil or UK.
As for the original post- I’d recommend creating something similar, but obviously different. It is much better to stay on the side of caution, especially in scenarios like these.
I didnt realize it was the confederate flag due to the way he described it… makes sense now why this could be risky.
