Am I allowed to share specifics of private stuff with my developer team? For example, say I want to sign up for one of the betas in #development-discussion:engineering-feedback. Am I allowed to ask my developers (not in the forum) as to whether or not they think we should sign up for said beta or am I not allowed to discuss any specifics with them?
Do not consider my response as an official answer to your question.
If you make the decision to tell somebody any information which is not publically accessible then be aware that their actions will be treated as an extension of your own.
In other words, tell them whatever you feel like they need to know but be aware that you are responsible for what they decide to do with this information. If they leak privileged information this is your fault and you will be the one that is sanctioned.
Most importantly, encourage them to apply for access to the developer forum.
The only things I will share are my own posts, and only posts that contain only my own information (i.e. they don’t contain any sensitive info only for users here). I’m not sure I would even try to get someone into beta if they aren’t on the forum IMO
In the context of informing teammates on a project about something in these confines, it is reasonable to inform new members or guests if it is indeed neccessary for them to be aware? (Of course sensitive info should be kept under wraps.)
Yeah, I’d like to let my team know that I’ve put our work-in-progress game in a couple of betas but I won’t if I’m not allowed. No intentions to leak ant information, just to get them aware that I’ve put us in a beta.
