R15 Character Scaling

Looks like head scaling isn’t working correctly :frowning:

I think I’m scaling the SpecialMesh Scale as well as the size of the Head part. I will try and get a fix out for this ASAP. I don’t think this is a reason to turn off the flag though, for now you can just set the Scale back to Vector3.new(1.2, 1.2, 1.2) on Changed for the Head SpecialMesh.

Will this affect “hats” (not necessarily just on the head)?

R15 probably shouldn’t use the SpecialMesh head. After all, aren’t you guys trying to deprecate that class?
If it was using a MeshPart, that would also open up the ability to scale the head to non-uniform scales.

Oh by the way, characters like to die if you resize the character too frequently and there’s latency.

The characters seem to have trouble rotating to direction they are working towards when they are big

I’m using that script you supplied. though the head is 1.6 and I’ve changed the mesh offset to 0.6

R15 Bloxkin simulator confirmed?

Also… found a bug. If you set it the values to 0 or lower, the character disappears and has to respawn.

I do wish you could get smaller than you are currently able to re-size to, but at the same time, this is neat. This is really neat. Super neat.

We’re starting out with reasonable scale limits, but we may expand them in the future :slight_smile:

Will the owner of the game have the option to disable characters scaled from the website? Without, you know, manually finding the character and changing the settings to a default?

Yes. It’s a setting on the game in the same location as Rig Type.

We should be able to change our depth too. It doesn’t look very good having you be skinnier and still just as much depth.

Is this also what’s causing hats to be disconnected from characters when any scale is changed? Any timeline on a fix?

It’d be great if we could get 1.2 for height when we increase the limit from 1.05. Here is a comparison between 1.0 and 1.2:

The height difference is only 0.8 – such a small difference would pose little issue while empowering users with significant customization options. I would love to have a character with height 1.2x.
