R15 Characters Implode Upon Importing

Reproduction Steps

This bug is very simple to reproduce and can be done in a variety of ways, but Team Create must be enabled for all of them to work:

METHOD 1: COPY + PASTE
Simply copying and pasting your avatar from play test mode into Workspace will cause the avatar to implode upon being pasted

METHOD 2: TOOLBOX
Clicking or dragging any r15 avatar from the toolbox will also cause them to implode

METHOD 3: PLUGIN
For this method I am using AlreadyPro’s Avatar Importer plugin. Importing an R6 avatar will work perfectly, but any importing of R15 avatars will cause them to implode.

For my system information, I am working on a GPD Max 2.

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 6800U
  • GPU: AMD Radeon 680M
  • RAM: 16GB DDR5
  • Storage: 1TB SSD
  • Motherboard is a custom GPD model

Beta features I have enabled:

  • Accessory Fitting Tool
  • CSG v3
  • IK Controls
  • Intuitive Debugger
  • Live Animation Creator
  • New Character Controller
  • New Experiences Enable Team Create
  • New Text Chat Service
  • Notched Screen Support
  • Save Rig w/ Animation
  • Scripts Are Non-Strict by Default
  • Selection & Navigation Improvements in Explorer

Expected Behavior

I expect the character to import correctly as normal

Actual Behavior

Workaround

My current preferred fix for this problem is to use BenIsLegit’s HDify plugin. When I have the imported character selected, I can select the “Hats” option in the menu and it not only fixes everything in the character’s positioning, but it also groups all of the accessories into a folder inside the character too!

You can also alternatively turn off Team Create to solve the issue
