R6 Blocky Building Style - Looks too empty

Howdy!
I’m looking to make a more R6 type of game, some may call it low poly, others blocky.
I am stumped though! I am not very sure how to make this landscape look less flat!
I was hoping to make some sort of grass, or maybe bushes, though I can’t seem to find the right amount of balance, because it begins to look crowded. Any input would be appreciated!

Hi,

I don’t know I really like how the landscape looks like.

Maybe you could add a few bushes at the hill or near the road or the house.
Perhaps you can make a field (I mean like a corn field or smth like that) since it looks like a village and a city game. I mean only when you find it way too empty, but the bushes would make it too crowded.

I don’t really know and I think my opinion doesn’t help you very much since I’m a beginner builder. I’m just a type of human who likes helping people. But you can count my opinion as invalid.

I hope my opinion helped.

Howdy to you, Seespotbyte!

Well, I don’t see any water on the map. So maybe you want to make some ponds? A park? You could also transition the landscape to having smaller buildings on the outskirts of the “downtown.” Changes in elevation are also a good practice to give it some depth (since you called the terrain “flat”). Perhaps you could also have farmland on another part of the map. Like @tutumadar123 said, hills could be cool. You could also put bridges that go into the city. A river that flows around the city… a large body of water… I am thinking on my feet at this point.

I hope I was able to inspire you. Good luck, and keep up the good work!

How about gradual changes in elevation?

Try placing larger very slight increases in your triangle terrain. It may just be that tiny little hint of detail without being crowded.

Maybe a fenced off area if it’s supposed to be farmland or a park.
