R6 or R15? for prison game

Hello there. I want to know which best suits for a prison escape game where you have to escape jail to and rob places. What are the advantages and disadvantages for both R6 and R15? I am currently creating a prison game and am wondering if changing the type to R6 will decrease the player count drastically since jailbreak and mad city have R15?

R6 is the best option for using the shiftlock glitches/tricks which might suit the artificial escape theme for your prison.

I would go with R15. You can make much more fluid animations (crawling, sprinting etc) in R15 compared to R6. R15 also has better support for rthro packages, some people may want to have their packages that they paid rbx for to look good in game (though this is purely for looks).

@goldencowboy Thanks, I might consider adding escape places with tricks you need to know with shiftlock and stuff. @hockeylover29 Will it make people want to quit the game or enjoy it less?

I mean there’s no true difference besides aesthetics. I don’t think R6 is actually glitchier than R15 or anything.

That being said, I’ve been exclusively using R15 in my projects for a while now. It guarantees your game will be future-proof and allows you to use newer features like avatar scaling. Also, anyone wearing Rthro packages will look better with R15. R15 is the modern rig.

It’s 2019. Plenty of successful games only utilize R15. Nobody cares which rig you use anymore. If you’re making a new game and choosing to support only one rig, R15 is the way to go.

Nope it shouldn’t. R15 is mostly for the looks in this case.

I would say R15, I think it provides more smoother animations such as to crawl and proning.

I wish I could select multiple solutions. Thanks to all who replied.
