This is a great tool, the only thing is the radial selector doesn’t seem to scale. This means that if the explorer and properties are open on each side you can’t read any of it.
Amazing plugin! Do you think you could make a feature where you select a part, and press M and open up another radial menu? It would have different materials to change it to. Maybe even C for some basic colors. Overall, great plugin!
Hm, there seems to be some issues after using it.
- The radial menu appears when studio opens, collapsed (see below) (no output). This is fixed by pressing left alt.
- Using
MouseButton1
to select something to place does not work. However, the number keybinds do. - The ray you use should be based on MOUSE POSITION, not
CurrentCamera.CFrame
.
Regardless of these issues, I will be keeping the plugin; there is a lot of potential with speeding up builds here!
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll check these issues out right away!
Could you elaborate by what you mean by this? Maybe provide a screenshot?
He probably means this. You should clamp the GUI’s position so it doesn’t go outside the window using the ViewportSize
property of workspace.Camera
.
I don’t have access to my pc at the minute, but if you shrink the viewport size enough (for example by opening the explorer) and then open up the wheel, the buttons are too small to read.
As a maya user this comes super handy. Would be great to have the possibility to change the activation hotkey as I use alt for many roblox studio personal shortcuts, and having the plugin pop up each time may be a little annoying. Overall it’s pretty cool, but as other users said having more features would be awesome, such as spawning meshparts or the ability to union and negate there.
Update v0.0.2 (12/06/20)
- Objects spawn on the mouse’s position instead of what the camera is facing
- Keybind has been changed from LeftAlt to LeftAlt + Z
- Bug fixes
Instead of hardcoding a keybind, could you have it respect a Studio setting keybind? I would find this a lot more useful if I could customize it to a key combination that doesnt conflict with any of my other ones.
Oh! I didn’t know this existed. Thank you for telling me this, I’ll definitely check it out
This is an amazing plug-in. I’m going to install it right away!
Such a simple idea but yet seemingly so useful. The ui looks great and professional. Will download this right now!
It would be nice if it added a shortcut to change the colour and transparency. It would work like if you select to change the transparency it would pop up with a GUI to enter the value. Changing the colour would work like if you select to change the colour it would give you two options, get the colour wheel or get the colour hexagon or whatever its called. I think it would be nice to change that quickly on the fly.
By the way, I would recommend in the description of your plugin to download to list what it does and how it does it or link this devforum post and tell them to click there if they want to know how to use it and how it works.
Thanks for the feedback! I am planning to add more features (Color changing, negating, unioning, separating, etc…), and I’ll definitely change the description a bit more to give more information
Im a builder with intense OCD and I would love to use this addon but i dont like how every part i make’s scale on the Y axis is 1.2 maybe you could add a feature to let the user decide what default size they want? or maybe atleast make the y axis 1.0?
I’ll be sure to add that to the upcoming features that’ll be released tomorrow, hope it’ll fix your issue.
can you make the parts spawn anchored or a option to enable/disable it?
LeftAlt + Z is the shortcut used to open GeForce Experience. Changing the shortcut to this removes functionality for me.
i dunno why I waited so long to post this here sorry lol
I think I’ll just release the update that allows customizable keybindings now cause these other features I’m trying to add are taking much longer than intended.
