This plugin looks pretty cool. A possible feature is when you insert the part, the part follows the color and material shown on top here
I don’t think getting the Material and Color values from Model tab is possible to do.
Update v0.0.3 (12/12/20)
Note: Not much has been updated to the plugin as I’ve been busy with school and other projects. I’ll probably add more features during Christmas break as that’s when I’ll have a lot more free time.
- Customizable Keybindings (Quick tutorial on how to change keybindings are at the post above)
- Wedges, Parts, and Cylinders sizes have been changed on the Y-axis from 1.2 to 1 (Thanks to @bloxstar_games for catching this mistake)
Next Update Features
- Clamped UI Position
- Settings
I actually have something like this (pro blender user) unreleased that I use but, this is way more polished. I actually love everything about this. The functionality. The movement and the design. Fantastic work!
This plugin is fantastic! It’s quite handy just being able to open this up and quickly and smoothly insert a part you needed. Instead of going to the Home tab and having to press it. Also, now having the ability to have a specific keybind to open up the menu has really made it better to suit peoples keybinds. Good job!
have a nice day.
A tutorial for how to set up your keybinds is at the end of the post!
Thanks for telling me this! I’ll try to add this in the new update coming next week!
I don’t like how:
I can’t click the buttons, I have to click outside the buttons
The part has plastic as a material (instead of smooth plastic) and isn’t anchored
The part spawns where my mouse is but I would prefer for it to spawn directly in front of the camera (Especially because, since I can’t click the buttons, my mouse will be over the void)
If you add settings for this stuff, this plugin will replace Quick Build (by @reteach) for me
I was not aware anyone actually used that anymore lol.
Fun fact, that was literally the very first script that I ever wrote, I just followed the plugin tutorial (which was just a brick creation toolbar button) and basically copy pasted it a bunch of times and added part properties to it.
I have used your plugin for years lol
I thought this Radial Building Tool plugin would replace it so I don’t have to go to the plugins tab to spawn a outlineless anchored part.
(Btw it has always annoyed me how your plugin spawns a wedge with 1.2 height (and not 1) and that the cyllinder and sphere have meshes inside instead of being parts with a different .Shape)
Just fixed all that for you, update the plugin.
But @OP he is right about the settings. The only reason my simple quick build plugin got as many downloads as it did was because Roblox’s >insert part used to spawn with tons of annoying defaults that were not ideal for building.
Yeah, my current intent with the upcoming update is to hopefully provide more customizability to the plugin so people can choose what they want as like presets.
This looks amazing, I think you should add a section where you can add an R15 Block Rig so you can easily get a rig for scale. I use this all the time and is so clean and easy to set up. Thank you for making this wonderful thing. @HavocOmega
Sorry for this bump
@HavocOmega the menu stills looking very small in my pc
I suggest adding an option to change the size of the buttons
I also suggest adding a button to insert a MeshPart
