Random Low Poly Buildings

I started making low-poly builds every day for a week to improve my building skills. Probably gonna open-source these once they’re finished! You can also see them In-game if you want.

When you say low poly, I expect a CARTOONY look. You should definitely add a few textures, and a few bends here and there. I wouldn’t consider these low poly tho. But I like the buildings! The factory one I don’t like tho. its seems too bland.

Thanks for the feedback! Low poly has more to do with the level of detail in the build than the overall style. They also typically don’t have textures which is why I went with smooth plastic for most of these!

It isn’t that bad Just needs more detail, like more of a cartoon look & wocky & than BOOM! You got a very cool low poly building

Woah! These look fantastic! I especially love the factory and how detailed it is! I definitely don’t think any textures are needed, like Awakened said, because that defeats the purpose of low poly! You’ve done an amazing job, keep it up!

Thanks for your feedback and kind words!

Here’s what I’ll say. Some of the trees are very nice, I do agree on the fact that low-poly shouldn’t have much textures, but then here’s the real deal: low-poly should have a lot of imperfections. It’s an abstract artistic style that should look cartoony, as @AwakenedElemental mentioned. But what I am not seeing are the imperfections. Low-Poly buildings can be crooked, which is very common.

When you hear “Low-Poly”, don’t underestimate it and definitely do not be afraid to add some extra details, which would be very nice. It is a very common mistake that I see in low-poly artists, but it never hurts to experiment. But for now, I cannot consider any of these buildings to be low-poly. Unfortunately, they are poor quality models.

Here’s an example of low-poly:

Anyways, looking forward to seeing your next low-poly creations and can’t wait to see improvements @GoldenLoDev

Thanks for the feedback! I will try and build less “perfect” looking builds for the next week I do this to show some diversity. These are made in Roblox studio but they are made to mimic low poly 3D models.

If you do a quick google search for “low poly buildings” you will see that these are not too far from it!

I would agree they’re not far from low-poly, but they still cannot be considered low-poly.
I’m just here to give my feedback and really hope you do not see this as an offense, but rather learn something from it, as we are all here to simply help.

I appreciate feedback. You should also know that your feedback is an opinion, and we can have different opinions on what low-poly is and they can both work! I hope you didn’t take any offensive by me saying to do a google search, as I got the ideas for most of these on google by searching that.

ey yo chill guys… btw i personally cannot really consider @GoldenLoDev 's buildings low-poly. i mean, if i were to ask for a low-poly build commission, i dont think it’s something i’d expect. its good tho ngl but, i just think it’s more of blocky rather than 'low poly. peace yo, really good builds!

@GoldenLoDev Hello! You said to google low-poly buildings, so I did (I didn’t write roblox in the search, by the way)!

This is what I would consider low poly. Your buildings, far from low poly, instead I would consider them normal buildings. Also, it would be nice if you added some scenery around your builds.

I respect your opinion! Thanks for getting the first picture, wouldn’t you say that looks the same as the low poly store I built that you say is not low poly? :face_with_monocle:

Nonononononono, you don’t get it. Some of them seem low poly/cartoony, while others don’t

Low poly isnt exactly cartoony, its just really the number of verts and poligons (dont know modelling that well.)
So basically the number of parts in the build, all of these are low poly no doubt, but as you said a bit more detail and they will look amazing no doubt!

Low-poly doesn’t really mean a low amount of polygons anymore, it just means cartoony and slight imperfections here and there nowadays…

These are now open-sourced! Get them here.

Amazing work you’ve done, to bad there isn’t any interiors to them. Would interiors make them not low poly anymore?

This is a fire build like seriously this look likes something in a cartoon show  :slightly_smiling_face:
