On the Texture for the Brighteyes’ Bloxy Cola Hat there is a random black speck on the brim. While this isn’t a huge issue at all, after wearing the hat for an extended amount of time it becomes pretty noticeable. I believe this small speck is accidental and isn’t intended to be in the texture and removing it would be nice.
They’re saying that the dot is an intentional part of the texture, not a mistake. Whether it has an advantage or disadvantage for the look of the item (mostly subjective anyway) is not really relevant in this case.
Frankly speaking, even if it were a mistake, there is almost no chance they would actually change it. It is such a minor detail, it’s an old hat, and there are so many owners who may or may not like how it looks.
Roblox really should change the texture because I don’t think Roblox moderation allows barcodes in any way, so it might be just a matter of time before it’s taken down. I reported the texture — we’ll see what happens.
I don’t think that small dot is intended either — why would there be a random spot there when every part of the hat has a consistent shade? I think it could be reviewed again.
Barcodes in items created & uploaded by Roblox aren’t an issue because the barcode in question has already been vetted by them. UGC content is a different story altogether, as Roblox can’t properly check each and every asset with a barcode to ensure that they are in compliance with Roblox’s rules (such as rules against sharing PII, like phone numbers).
As for the dot on the texture, it would be kind of nice to see it cleaned up since it’s not really a significant element of the appearance and it’s clearly unintentional.
