Hey everyone! So lately I’ve been working on some thumbnails for my game, and decided to see what the forum had to say about my design and whether it’s ideal for a horror game. Here’s what I came up with:
The models from the frist two GFXS look great! (did you make them btw?) However you need to improve the lighting because it looks WAY too dark in a few parts of the first gfx. I would also recommend reducing the power of the light that is in the character’s face on the second gfx because it’s way too bright. Now talking about the last gfx, the laptop seems kinda odd, i would change for something smaller such as an phone/radio and maybe add a few other models (maybe an table, a few chairs and a couch) to the background. Keep the good work!
I’m not getting that ominous and scary feeling when looking at these, which seems necessary for horror games. However for the first two, you did a spectacular job on environment design, with the realistic worn down objects. The third one doesn’t give off this scary look with the low poly bookshelves and metallic floor. Try to limit as much light as possible, the brightness takes away the thumbnails purpose of portraying a horror game. Anyways, keep up the good work.
That looks very good, and if you are a beginner this is amazing. The only thing you can improve is lighting on the 1st one, the models and the posing are insane.
Yes I created most assets (my friend helped me with some). And yes I agree the lighting needs to be worked on a bit more although for the last gfx I should add more details and switch out the laptop with something else. Thx!
The reason why it’s so shiny is because my game has a lot to do with realistic graphics, and a whole lot more to do with raytracing, reflections, high quality textures, etc. I don’t want the GFX to over emphasize or exaggerate the game graphics in general, so I thought that adding reflections would make up for the already-so-realistic graphics in the game. But of course, I will take your word and see if I can tone down the shininess to a much more realistic level while still keeping that roblox horror theme in check.
