My fiffth or sixth GFX Design, Go easy on me.
This design was made using paint.net, and I was just experimenting with different tools. I worked pretty hard on it, tell me how it looks! Thanks!

Pretty nice idk what to say cause I’m in of loss of words I can’t add in criticism to it or tell anything wrong with it.Good job👌
I didn’t mean tthat easy! Thanks for the support! Is it actually that nice?
I was trying to muster up something to say about it but no luck means its ok in my book.
I don’t know if the black lines and stuff on him are on purpose, but it just makes it look like an unfinished render to me. Maybe if the background also fit in with the black lines it wouldn’t look that way.
They’re the detail/shading of the shirt. They’re 100% meant to be there. Thanks for the input!
Looks great so far! I was probably thinking about changing the background to compliment accent colours of your character here. So it’s mostly warm, instead of making the background warm, make it cool colours?
I think the render looks pretty good. I’d only recommend a background change, but that’s not even needed, only if you wanted to change it.
Good work!
I like your GFX looks nice I do have suggestions.
Suggestion
You should add a water mark so people won’t still it I really think you should.
to me the right hand looks darker and the left lighter, but like you said go easy on ya lol, it’s ok.
Render
How did you make that looks like you made it in blender or roblox studio how did you make it what did you use.
Over all looks really great Evan the character looks like a roblox person’s.
Hope this help.
Render looks alright. Only thing I would change is the background.
The outlines are not good with the background 6/10.
Hello @SchwarzWalde,
Regarding your GFX, I think you could change some things to make it look better. First of all, the render. It doesn’t look that good, use blender and not ROBLOX studio. I am pretty sure you took that picture on ROBLOX studio with a green screen behind it because I can see some green outlines on the render. Use blender as it is really good for such things, you can also give your character some cool lighting and reflection on blender. I also suggest you do not add cartoon filters to your renders as it doesn’t look really attractive. Another thing which I want to point out is the background, it just a big blurred image, I suggest you add a 3D scene there or something else more creative.
EDIT:
I just noticed that you have also created another thread regarding your GFX and people there already suggested you should use 3D programs for your renders. You should probably take our suggestions and improve your GFX, you can constantly ask here for critics until you are satisfied with your GFX.
Not going easy because you don’t learn from that. The render is very basic, and the cartoonish filter you applied to it doesn’t make it much better. You need to add reflection to your characters in order to give it more depth and mix up your poses and bend limbs.
The GFX has a hard edge around it. If you’re using a green screen I’d advise against that, as the render will come out low quality and very grainy. If you’re starting GFX I’d recommend Blender as you can get better lighting effects with it, as well as the render will come out transparent & smooth. If you’re going to add cartoony shading, make sure that anti aliasing is on when using the brush, so that the lines come out smoother and not with a hard edge. For your next GFX you should focus on those things and try experiment with different poses and stuff. Good job so far though
Hey, overall you have a lot of potential and I’m happy to see that you’re exploring different methods of GFXs.
It seems as if you used one of the “artistic” filters on paint which defines darker areas. It’s a perfectly fine filter, though in this context it doesn’t fit in as nicely because there’s a sharp contrast between the softer background and the black edges of the character. Any other critique I have stems from the restrictions that the tools you use have.
As others have suggested if you really want to take your GFXs to the next step instead of hitting a plateau due to the limitations of Roblox Studio I strongly recommend Blender! It’s a free to use software and which incredibly opportunity for more sophisticated graphics, shading, textures, and dynamic scenes. I encourage you to look at videos from youtubers like Andrew Price who provide excellent tutorials that can catapult you to become a Blender master.
I started doing GFXs with a green skybox in Roblox studio and paint.net and it taught my so many important lessons in composition and character positioning. However, eventually I reached a place where I hit a ceiling and there was no room for improvement using the tools I was using. The only way to move past it was to use greater software like Blender, which is why I encourage you to do the same!
I think because of the black lines to give a sort of drawn/comic effect, the background needs to be changed to also work with it. It makes the character look out of place, which is probably why some of the earlier replies were asking about the lines.
Background should be less blurry. Effect on the character should be less and I’d try Cinema 4D or Blender to render the character.
5/10
as an artist to an artist this work looks very weird,
this could not say as a blender effect, just as a super focus,I recommend using blender friend, not just green screen ,many will say it’s ok but sadly something is missing
It looks alright but, the render is very stiff and the pose is basic. There is not a lot of detail added to the background, and in my opinion, the filter you added doesn’t look too good. You’re definitely making progress though, as this is your fifth render. Keep up the good work!
Yeah, use blender. Green screen isn’t good, it needs more detail.
Just make sure to use blender next time.
