Rate my house I built!

Hi!

I’m currently trying to learn how to build better, so I built this house. What do you think?

This is essentially my first build that I’ve actually tried as hard as I can to make it look nice.

Thank you!

Honestly, this is bad. Build is super basic, but I don’t see how you wouldn’t improve. Keep working on it and you’ll improve a lot.

Way better then my first build. It looks pretty basic but that can always be worked on.

Its very basic but i would make the house a material like wood. I would also add some color variation. Except if yourr starting out this is really good and way better then my first build if you keep building ad practicing your get better

Obviously, it looks extremely basic and is very plain.

Here are some tips for you to improve your build, try to suck up as much info as you can, it’ll definitely help you in the long run:

  • Use materials/textures. This is a necessity (unless aiming for a certain style).
  • Add detail. You’ll need specific things, no matter how small. This can range from things like hinges to indents and specific curvature or irregular geometry/shapes. This includes bigger things too, like: doors, windows, decor, etcetera.
  • IMPORTANT: Use references! I cannot stress how much it helps to use reference pictures when building. Unless you’re an architect or know every single component of a house, you’ll need this. It can help you with determining what to add and what not to do. For example, the house you built has an unrealistically thick outline. Search up pictures of a house, I bet you’ll never see any house with such thick outlines. Maybe some houses have pillars, more than just two colors, specific placement of components, etcetera the list goes on.

This might’ve been quite a bit to think about if you’re just starting out, but those are just a few fundamentals that’ll stick with you… forever! Keep practicing.

Nice, simple, and great for lo-poly starter villages. If you want to make FANCIER build I suggest using a reference image. (creativity isn’t necessary to improve your building abilities.)
