I created this post because I am looking forward to tons of ratings and feedback from a project that I and other devs made for the recent challenge called “Inspire 2024”!
Since the game was made in 3 days, we are still planning on how we can make the game fun in the future… Who knows, maybe turn from a “pilot” project into a passion project?
Check out below and let me know your feedback in the replies:
I like the concept of the game, but there’s a problem with bugs in the game, which isn’t surprising considering you were in a rush to get this done. But I’ll just start off with a small nitpick: The invisible wall blocking level 2 isn’t tall enough. I didn’t get what I was supposed to do in the first level, so after figuring out that the invisible wall wasn’t tall enough, I just used the building tools to build up over the wall and skip level 1, which might have or might have not caused the following bug.
The cube you use to push is broken. After sneaking onto the 2nd level, I picked up the cube and followed to the end and actually completed level 2 (1). I then respawned at the first level spawnpoint with level 2 unlocked, and noticed that I still had the cube gui up. So I pressed E and the cube teleported me to itself at the end of level 2, speedrunning the level!
I don’t remember having troubles with level 3. Except, that the cube from level 3 teleported with me to level 4. I failed at first. I respawned at level 4 again, I picked up the cube, and it teleported me back to level 2? I put the cube from level 4 into the level 2 receiver and it counted as me completing level 4! I then was respawned at level 5, with another cube for some reason! I then went on to complete the game as normal.
I don’t know what caused all of this mess? I did accidently get into the portal of level 2 after completing it, somehow ending up at level 5? I wish I was recording my first playthrough.
The first level you needed to use the old Roblox building kit tools to use the “free bricks”, getting to the roof, grab and drop the box inside of the house! We share this simple instruction on the opening interface where it contains a bunch of information with the text being green
Are there any possibilities of you to reproduce this once you can? We and other developers never noticed or ended up with this odd bug
I believe we quite need more videos to understand how did you end up with this situation that we never got… If you can, it would mean a lot for us!
Overall, this is a good feedback. I thank you for taking your time to rate our project!
I tried my best to replicate the route I had taken in my first playthrough, but sadly I didn’t get as crazy of a result… But my 2nd and 4th run turned out some interesting results too, I guess?
2nd run
4th run (in this one I even recreated my initial confusion)
These videos also show another issue I forgot to mention previously: extreme lag spikes. I don’t have an idea on when they occur, but I do know that it isn’t a normal thing that happens to me on Roblox or any other game. If you’re wondering, these are my specs:
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660
CPU: Intel i5-11400f
RAM: 32gb 2666hz(?) ddr4
I’d also like to clarify that when I said “entered the portal on accident” previously, it was me mistaking the intentional glitch into the last level as me getting into the portal.
What I really am frustrated about is that I can’t show you the 5th run, which included the cube teleport! Even though I vividly remember pressing the record button, for some reason when I looked again my obs wasn’t recording.
I am not going to be posting in the nearest time as it is getting late for me, but whenever I have the time to I’ll try to catch the cube warp on record. But if you want to do it yourself, I’d say you have to just do lots of attempts until you find it.
Thank you so much for the videos! Now, I clearly understand and I will highly share it with the others we are going to fix all of this soon
One of my teammates had this same issue when they were producing the game… But, likewise, I will see what can be improved for this scenario. If it persists, despite integrating optimization, I suppose this might be a problem on your end… Don’t worry, filing up a #bug-reports saves the day!
