In Kunena, there was a handy “Latest” tab. If there was a post or thread I hadn’t seen yet, I got a little “NEW!” next to the thread. I’d check this tab now and then and get a pretty good idea of everything that was happening on the forum.

Discourse has a “Latest” tab as well, but it doesn’t seem to be as accurate as Kunena’s. Multiple times I’ve posted in a thread, and that thread would show up in “Latest” and my little notifications area with the number of new posts, no problem. But later I stumbled across these same threads, and they had unread posts. I was never notified, and the thread wasn’t in the “Latest” tab as it should have been (I checked this tab often enough, I should have caught the thread).

All in all, I feel I’m missing a bunch of posts because of Discourse.

Under your settings

you’ll find this:

Put all the categories in there you want to track. :slight_smile:

Should show new post counts on every post with the categories you specified.

The Latest section on Discourse has always been working for me. Make sure you don’t have any person / category muted because that will cause the threads to not appear in Latest.

Can confirm that all unread posts and threads will appear in Latest with highlighted titles, unless you messed with your muted settings.
