Realistic Bodycam Effect

I recently made a realistic bodycam effect. The map is from Realistic Forest Demo.

Can I have some feedback on what needs to be improved? Also, I’ve been looking for a camera overlay that has a time counter and a recording symbol. Any way I can find one?

This would be so perfect without the middle reticle/circle, since that’s not how flashlights/IRs work, but this is a really great work! It definitely feels more realistic and the illusion of the camera makes it feel so much more immersive.

This is really good!

Besides the reticle that @DrSchneeplestein mentioned, one thing that could be added is some easing on the camera. This is where the camera doesn’t just abruptly stop, it has a sort of “slide” when you stop moving your mouse.(You can also switch it around and have whatever tool you have in your first person view be the one being eased.)

It’s hard to explain but you can probably figure out what i’m saying from other “bodycam” games. I can provide an example if you want.

Still impressive! The lighting is nice. :+1:

Yeah when a flashlight is shown I don’t think the center where the main light actually hits is bright enough to cause glare to a camera. If anything, it should be clearer where the main beam is to mimic a real flashlight. Also you should make another Rake game lol

I have the effect in, that the video is just recorded at 24 fps and also that camera is completely custom and not the default Roblox camera with some CFrame offsets. I will change that soon though since the custom camera is buggy.

The middle beam is from some volumetrics I added last minute. It’s just a compromise I have to make since the volumes make the atmosphere so much better.

Please keep it up! I might be interested in using your system some time in a project or two, so maybe we could get in touch! I see so much potential in this! :fire:

This realistic bodycam effect looks good and is pretty accurate! Awesome job on creating it! How long did it take to make this? Will you use it in anything?

It actually only took 1 day to make. I might use it in a game but i have other projects I’m working on right now.

If I were to make a game out of it, it would be geared toward pc since the maps and camera effects will be heavy on a phone.

Sure, I dont know my Disord handle off the top of my head, but I can give a server I own.
