Realistic Horse?

Okay, so a friend of mine (Ralchire) made a horse a long time ago; I scripted the horse for him, but, unfortunately, someone got a copy of the horse and released it in free models. This eventually led to the horse being featured in the blog.

For example:

Recently, Ralchire made a new horse which I said I would animate and script when CSG got released. So, here you are:

Controls
[ul]
[li]Backspace to jump off[/li]
[li]Left Shift to run[/li]
[li]ASDW to move[/li]
[li]Space to jump[/li]

[/ul]The horses are fully animated using the ROBLOX Animation plugin, they work on mobile devices (somewhat) and they work on filter-enabled places.

Mobile example:

Tell me what you think; any feedback would be helpful.

I haven’t finished with all the animations yet ΓÇö I still plan on adding a rearing animation and an idle animation for the horse eating (only when the horse is stood on grass). I also plan on adding numerous sounds for the different actions (when my Robux reserves recover from uploading and updating a total of 26 animations T_T).

A horse broke when I reset on it.

These a pretty cool, probably the best horses i’ve seen on roblox. I assume the all the control is done by the server because there was a bad delay in input making them hard to use. The animations also seemed to be running a bit slow, like 20 fps, don’t know if that’s somehow network related too.

Yes, the input is handled by the server which, depending on your ping can cause problems with controlling the horse.

I made it this way so the horses work when Filtering Enabled is active.

These horses are also my first real go at making something work when Filtering Enabled is on.

The animations are played via a server script, this results in the animations looking slower and jumpy.

You should probably be doing animating and controls on the client and then replicating them to the server/other clients (right?)

Controls are handled by a local script, it then tells the server how to move and animate the horse, it would be handy if I could do some client side interpolation though.

Edit:
I should of said on the previous post; the server handles the input sent from the client.

Kinda wish I was this good at scripting, oh well. I guess I’ll have to learn!

Nice job. Amazing what can be done with Scripting.

What are these going to be used for?
Will they ever be released on public domain?
If not, will you ever sell copies of them?

I’m currently planning to use them for a horse racing game (based off of the Grand National).

I also have intentions to use them in a cowboy styled game and a medieval based game.

I probably won’t release them to the public and I’m undecided if I’ll ever sell copies of them.

The first thing I’d do if I was to get these would be to make custom weapon tools like shields and swords so that cavalry fighting would be a thing.

I guess mine got tired

The horse is too big and looks like its on steroids. So no.

No other colours :frowning:

To recolour the horses, I would have to completely re-CSG the horse due to the different colours on the head, mane, feet, etc., etc.
:frowning:

Quick update:
Horses now throw you off when you run into a barrier.
Horses wont break when you reset on them.
Added some barriers for lols.

The thing where it throws you off is REALLY annoying.

That horse was an older version. The real horse is like half the size.

No different colours, I am sad. I wanted a black one
