Well good morning or afternoon fellow DevForum folks, I’m basically a beginner at this whole scripting and game development thing on Roblox Studio, but I’ve put a lot of time and effort into it, until today, I’m just too unmotivated, I basically woke up one day and said I KNOW IT, I GOT IT, THE PERFECT GAME! a murder mystery type game but with somewhat different roles, a monster and survivors, the monster hunts the survivors and the survivors hunt the monster, everyone is in danger!
So here I am, I’ve already worked quite a bit on the game, I made the round system, planned the mechanics and everything, but today while watching videos on youtube I just found out about these 2 games, Stalker and Darkness, and I couldn’t believe it! How is it possible that I never realized these two games existed, how is it possible that I never found out? Basically, it’s the idea I had, just a thousand times better programmed and made, that’s how things are, now I’m totally discouraged, I don’t know if I should continue with the game as a personal project or just call my friends and play Stalker!
I just want to know what you guys think, should I continue with my project? Should I be worried or something?
The truth is that I just wanted to vent a little, but thank you very much to whoever has read this post and a thousand thanks to whoever gives me their opinion or motivates me to continue with this project

Welcome to the developers life. I’ve done this tons. I’d say just deeply think your ideas through or bring up the idea to friends and see what they think.
Sorry about that… I just tried to look them up on Roblox and I couldn’t find anything. Are Stalker and Darkness Roblox games or outside of Roblox? Cause if they aren’t on Roblox you’re good to go lol. A lot of good Roblox games are based on real games outside of Roblox.
If they are on roblox, you could come up with some ideas to make them fun and unique. Sometimes simplicity outscores quality on Roblox.
Are you creating games because you want to?
If so, then just keep on creating them when you have time.
Don’t worry about if someone else had the same idea; there are over 8.2 billion people on the planet and games have been around since the caveman days.
Any game you come up with will likely have been done before - so just do your thing your way.
who cares what you feel or think in the moment, just keep going and see if it’s actually good. Only time will tell
Sorry if my answer came a bit late, yes they are from Roblox itself, they are quite old games to be honest, one was even created by Loleris, the one from Mad Games!

Thank you so much! I think I’ll continue with this as a personal project in that case, I think it would be best to take it as a challenge to improve my programming skills.
I think I’ll move forward with this project for pure entertainment, I decided to show it to a friend, and he seems to like it! I’d really like to play it together with him in the future.
bro these games died, why do you even care, keep working on your game
You should change your understanding to: If there is another game like mine idea, i should see what that game was wrong about and see if i can improve it, this way you can create something unique, you can look at things you don’t like, ask friends about things they don’t like, look at youtube to see what youtubers want&don’t like and boom! you have interesting game, not original but it doesn’t matter, as long as players like it
