Recent Avatar flag flipped (?) causing CCU drop & session drop on mobile

Our experience Clip It has experienced a sudden drop in CCU & uptick in reports about avatars failing to load.

We haven’t updated the experience since yesterday, but about 4 hours ago we began losing session times quickly on mobile only. PC remains unaffected. We are wondering if Roblox flipped a flag for mobile recently that may be negatively affecting avatar appearance loading?

We’re seeing feedback about users having trouble seeing themselves. The case they are describing would be a result of Humanoid:ApplyDescription failing

Same issue for my experience Lucky Avatars, after a short time on mobile avatar assets stop loading. I think it may be related to a memory leak / clean up issue. Attached is performance stats from my experience (no updates or changes to the experience in weeks).

We’ve been getting reports about this for my game as well

Our experience LifeTogether is also having this problem. If there is a new flag could this please be turned off for us asap?

Hi All,

We’ve reverted the flag that caused this behavior. Please have impacted users restart the Roblox app. Let us know if you’re still experiencing this issue.

We’re still receiving reports on Emergency Response from players saying their avatars are disappearing / failing to load after spending some time in-game.

Can you confirm if the issue persists after the impacted users restart their Roblox app?

Yeah it does

Can you help try to reproduce this issue on your end? We’re currently having our team investigate in parallel. Thanks!

Do we know the platform the impacted users are on?

Seems to be IOS in general from what I heard yesterday

I’m experiencing this bug in my experience too where avatars are not appearing for some players, seems to be particularly impacting people playing on Apple mobile devices (iPhone and iPad). I’ve received reports in the past hour so seems to still be occurring, I’ll edit this post with more information if I gain any.

Can we have the impacted users try to close out the Roblox app, wait 1-2 minutes, then reopen the app?

That didn’t work either, another player impacted is on iPadOS 17.6

Would it help if one of the impacted users were in game you? I also tried getting them to stream out of an area and back in along with calling RequestStreamAroundAsync, but no luck.

One of them sent me this when I asked for a console screenshot

Hi All,

In certain cases, it’s takes longer than expected for some settings to apply. Restarting the app and waiting 2 min, should resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience with this.
