People have been sending others links to their RBXDev profiles to “prove” they’re members when in fact they’re not really and they’re just at the new_user rank. I’ve even had a couple PMs from people asking to be added to the RBXDev group that linked to new_user profiles, whether it be because they mistakenly thought they were actually a member or they were trying to trick me. new_user isn’t very good at communicating that someone isn’t really a member of the forum, so it’d be great if it could be renamed to “guest” or “visitor”. It’s an easy and small change that should clear up confusion and help thwart malicious attempts to trick users into thinking someone’s a member when they’re not.

I’ve always found that rank name to be confusing in the sense that “new_user” sounds like someone who was approved.
Sometimes I’ll try to PM someone on RBXDev because chances are they’ll see my PM here rather than roblox, but I’ve actually sent PMs to non-members before because I thought they were accepted.
Good find, this change should clarify things a little.
