As a user I want to report someone’s username if they have a bad name. It doesn’t appear to be possible to do this.

If you go to their profile, hit Report Abuse, the best category to pick is probably “Inappropriate Language - Profanity & Adult Content”. You can specify in the comment box that it’s concerning their username.

This would be useful if Roblox didn’t filter search terms. I ran into an issue the other day where I wanted to report a user for their username but they left the game and I couldn’t search the site to find and report them.

To circumvent that problem, Log in to Roblox would do the trick. Not everyone knows this, though.

It’s also an old endpoint that only exists so old links still point to the right place, so it’s not really guaranteed it will exist further on in the future.

In the case of that endpoint closing down, https://api.roblox.com/users/get-by-username?username= can be used to convert from username to user ID, which can then be used for https://www.roblox.com/users/userid/profile.
But… then we’re too far for me or most other people to bother trying to find someone’s profile to report them.

Wouldn’t you just be able to do Report Abuse in-game, if you catch them in-game rather than on the website? I don’t really see a situation where you wouldn’t be able to report them unless they leave the game right before you were planning to report them
That’s the case I’m referring to, yes. 
A more elegant way to fix that is that the in-game Report Abuse window caches the names of players that left within 5 minutes ago.

Searching their name in Google works because it avoids filters. I often have to do this to find people who don’t have inappropriate usernames, because of the bad filters.

It’s filtered to stop people from searching bad names and finding them because Roblox don’t go through usernames of accounts made in the past and retroactively filter.

I still believe Roblox shouldn’t filter results on their webpage searches. You’re the one who’s searching them, so you should be able to find what you’re searching for and not some game that’s named “#######”. It’s not like anyone else would see what you search.
