Requesting help deciding between two game options

Help
Hi! I’m requesting a few minutes of your time that will help me tremendously. I need you to tell me which game seems to have more potential. (Which would could become popular.) Look below to see the game descriptions. Also, if possible please reply with why you would rather play the game you chose! Thanks so much!

Game 1
Game I is an open-world style game. There is a mainland and three smaller islands. The smallest island is connected to the mainland via ferry while the others are connected via bridges. You can be police, fire/EMS, transit, civilian, etc. You can get cars and buy homes.

Game 2
Game 2 is an open-world cops and robbers game. It is based in the Wild West where bandits can rob trains and banks for money. The sheriffs would have to travel around the map to catch them. The characters would be able to ride horses and change their characters.

id suggest you make something different, both of these ideas have been done before, how about some sort of space cops and robbers game? you can mount and rob spaceships, buy new ones, and customize your character.

To my understanding, open world games (especially those that need to scale and incorporate more locations) are especially difficult to maintain in proportion to the content demand from your community. Each area would need something new and filling to participate in.

Frankly, the success of your game will depend on a multitude of factors way too big to be accurately listed and even then that list would be highly subjective. If you’d like my two cents though, Game 2 sounds like a better pitch.

Compare the two game concepts you’ve put forth. You can roleplay as a public servant and explore lands, or you can be involved in a high-stakes Wild West environment where getting rich and shaking off the law provide a great variety of ways to play the game. Players are actively involved in game tasks, have things to complete and have a sense of accomplishment when committing certain actions, something that is undoubtedly valuable to the user experience.

With Game 1, you will need to be highly committed to making roleplay fun and interestingly built lands for players to go around in. Creating jobs and ways to attain progression or achievement are something you need to factor in during development. Bloxburg is an example of a simplistic-ish town and city roleplay game where you can build your own adventure, show off your house builds and complete tasks to support your lifestyle and your stats. Furthermore, you’ll want to think of goals. What are players looking forward to? What will keep them staying and coming back? What’s the selling point of your roleplay game that is so alluring that it just needs to be revisited?

With Game 2, you have a significant chunk of your work cut out for you. The premise of the game is to choose a side of the law to be on: the upholders, the bystanders or the offenders. PvP instantly invites achievement for trumping other players in battle. Starting players off with nothing means they need to earn their keep. Robbing key locations and getting lots of money to spend on better goods results in achievement and more fun to extract from the game. From there, it’s all about content and ways to interest, hook and drag players to your game. Got competition? Find ways to innovate and step it up to stay ahead. I know of some Wild West games in development right now by some pretty renown developers.

It is important that you define your goals for success and know what you find important to reach. Perform some personal research on existing similar games and see what you or others like and don’t like. Make many iterations of your concepts until you found something that could just be your lucky charm.

Good luck. It’s a bloody battlefield out there.

In my opinion, I like the idea of game 2.
Even though the aspects of the game may be similar to other games.
I think that it’s the best way to go as you can make your game.

However, I do like the idea of Game 1. In my opinion though, it seems to be more of a basic police roleplay game.

Both game options would be pretty fun, but the aspects and all of the possibilities of game 2 would make a great game!

I wish you the best of luck. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

Between the two, go for a western because we do not have a predominant Western game on Roblox. But the cops and robbers is a bit overdone

Any ideas for a western game that’s not overdone?

Why not make the focus around the player by creating different factions instead of two set factions like cops and robbers. But instead, different staples throughout the land?

This could add more loyalty to the game by getting supporters of each faction. Sort of like people when it comes to their HP house. It can only better the game experience and create player-made lore about the factions based off of what you’re giving them.

Look at ChadtheDestroyer’s After the Flash, but in a western sense.
