Resizing certain windows causes freezing

For the past while I’ve been struggling with a bug that freezes my studio when I resize certain windows. This only seems to occur in two cases. The first is when I either resize a plugin dockwidget that is free to drag around or resize the whole studio. An example of what I mean:

The second is when I use the test feature to run a server in which case I get the same freeze behaviour when I try to move or resize both the indivdual players windows and the server window. The main studio window however that you would build from can be resized fine (unless you have a docked dockwidget that will be resized as a result).

Here’s a video of that in action:

The whole screen freezes (not just studio, but windows too) then the whole screen flashes black for a split second.

You might wonder why I decided to record from a hand held device instead of using ppen broadcast software? Interestingly enough when I’m recording with OBS I do not have the problem, studio and the dockwidgets works like they should and resize without trouble. If I’m not recording though I get this bug 100% of the time.

I have gotten an error in the console, but it’s inconsistent. Sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn’t.

Another thing that’s worth noting is that sometimes the freezing does stop (the cases when I get the error in the console). When this happens the viewport of the game is either blank or stuck frozen, although I can still interact everything else in studio (excluding plugin dockwidgets which are also completely blank). You can see what I mean from the gif I posted.

I’m running windows 10 an as for graphics card I have:

  • Intel(R) HD Graphics 630
  • NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

However, have tried running studio with both of these and get the same result either way.

Any other information you might need I’m happy to provide.
